I think you have way too unrealistic expectations out of your #5 and #6 WR spots. I actually believe we are going to see Gute draft a guy that will be that sparkplug type RAC slot/jet sweep guy (think Toney, Moore, Whop, Moore) OR a true blue potential X or Z type WR...there is a realistic chance both happen with some of the hybrid running backs and such. The issue with addressing the WR position is it uses up precious draft capital when CB, iDL , OL are clearly of more need...and one could argue LB and EDGE are equals in need to WR. It's like the latest Mock I did, Toney fell to me at #29...which is not crazy unrealistic, especially if Smith/Weddle don't go with the first 7 or so picks. That draft I tried to minimize trading, I love back and then up scenarios, but I did use precious 2022 draft capital to trade up for a CB as we got behind the 8 ball very quickly not going CB at 29 #29 - Toney WR #61 - Chazz Surratt LB #76 - Paulson Adebo CB (2022 3rd and a this year 4th) #92 - Hunter Long TE #133 - Jaylen Twyman iDL #172 - Patrick Johnson EDGE #178 - Simi Fehoko WR (him and that Illini WR are becoming two I LOVE) #209 Brenden Jaimes OT #217 Bryan Mills CB #241 CJ Marable RB (got in trade up) #252 Syrus Tuitele OT (TALL, raw, may need to swing inside even) So getting the offensive weapons triggered three fall out affects...we don't get a Tier 2 CB IMO. Adebo is a guy I love, but he walks into a starting role for sure, but will have issues rookie year of course we have to suffer through. It also pushed us down the board on iDL...Twyman taking 2020 off is concerning for technique growth and such. The offensive line gets neglected. Jaimes I think could walk in and play RT, but most likely scenario is he is a year away, Tuitele is two years away from competing for a spot IMO.
