I can recall watching him scrambling for his life and making something out of nothing time and again.    As you know, the Saints have a big following in Mississippi, so Archie, being born in the Mississippi delta and a standout at Ole Miss, was an instant fan favorite.  Keep in mind this was during a time when access to college games was much more limited by geography, so Archie was well known within the are and there hopes that he would lead the franchise to being a contender. Not only that, he actually wanted to stay in New Orleans and help the team.  He was a big aprt of the community, and still is.  People did not hold it against him that he was not on a winning team, if anything they could see the career he could have had and embraced him even more.</blockquote>
