Best example of this I can think of is Football Outsiders SackSEER estimate; they take college stats and try to estimate NFL sack production in their first five years. By that measure Khalil Mack ranks third all-time in their estimate (since 1998). Barr was an exciting prospect coming out but he was NOT close to Mack.
