I'd say the final nail in the coffin won't be struck until the third preseason game. If Favre isn't in by then even the Vikings will have to admit that there's no time left for him to have any chance of being ready for the opener.    However, even that doesn't rule out a later unretirement where Favre comes in during the season.    In any event Favre has tarnished his legacy as a Packer badly by his attitude and behavior in the past year. He's not joining the Vikings out of any respect for the Packers'fans, who gave him such support and adulation for 16 years. He's only doing "the right thing" because his soon to be 40 body isn't allowing him to play against the Packers out of spite for a season.    There's nothing noble or sensible in him about this. Love Favre again? Not in the same way as before is the best I can say.</blockquote>
