Message: <blockquote data-quote="Sandolf" data-source="post: 596764" data-attributes="member: 9525">You may be bang on with that.  Here is what I wanted to mention.  There were some modifications to "Americanize" the sport.  Like the clock counting down, etc.  Another one was this 35 yard line acting sort of like an ice hockey blue line to prevent successful use of offside traps.Anyway, the penalty shootouts to decide games went like this.  The shooter was given the ball at either point where the nearest 35 yard line met the touch line.  He was then allowed to race in on goal.  The goalkeeper was permitted to come out and attack the ball to prevent a score.  hahaha....</blockquote>
