I know I will take some flack for this, but one guy I wouldn't mind seeing (on the cheap) in Green Bay is Anquan Boldin. After last season, I am not as sold on our current WR group as some are. Obviously, Jordy and Cobb, provided neither get injured, will be day 1 starters. But given the choice between Boldin or either of Adams, Abby, Janis...I would take Boldin as the #3. So where does this leave the rest? #4: Montgomery seems more of a slot player anyway, so he is still stuck behind Cobb. #5 and #6: Let Adams, Abby, Janis and Davis determine who is most worthy of those 2 spots. If Davis doesn't show a whole lot, he can safely be placed on the PS. I just think it would be a big plus having a good locker room vet like Boldin on offense. Even though he's 35 and his reception yards in 2015 were his lowest since the 2004 season, most of which can be blamed on a pathetic 49er offense (31st in league), I think he still has a lot in the tank. Boldin is sure-handed and willing to make tough catches anywhere on the field and could set a good example for the Packers younger receivers. As well as Boldin would provide depth for injuries like we saw in 2015. Some will say this removes one young player from the developmental loop. Which is true, but at this point, I'm not 100% convinced its worth banking on all 3 of these guys (Adams, Janis, Abby) to be future stars, especially at the expense of potentially less production from the offense on game day. Let them continue to learn in practice, rotational duty and by watching a great WR like Boldin.
