So many duds, so little time! You're right that we have been completely exposed and we're at a crossroads, but I don't think there's ever a time when there are no answers as long as there is a competent coaching staff in place. There are other teams that started out badly this year but are still finding ways to at least improve. And there are teams that have lost big name players but have not regressed to anywhere near the level we have. Unfortunately, we trot out the same thing each week with the same result (I'm talking offense here). Every defense is playing us the same way, while we adhere to a never-changing plan. They seem to be determined to keep the emphasis on the passing game, despite receivers who can't get open and can't catch. Best QB or not, at some point I would think they would make the decision to do what's working best in each game, like last night running the ball. Lacy fumbles, so he gets benched and they back off on the run even though aside from the fumble, he was the most effective player on the field. Meanwhile, Adams keeps dropping balls, but they continue to target him. Why the double standard? Was that the plan and they were just sticking to it? I don't get it, but then again, there's probably a good reason (or two) that I'm not coaching in the NFL. I'm also starting to wonder about the lack of mental preparedness for home games. Are the players assuming if the opponent has a losing record that the game is in the bag? I know that sounds crazy, but those are the games where they have looked the worst. Coming out flat, no fire and no energy from the outset. Just a deer in the headlights look and complete frustration when they find themselves struggling, few or no adjustments in the second half, and their backs to the wall at the end of the game relying on Rodgers and his ineffective receivers to make a play. How does the loss of one player make such a huge difference in an offense? I have a hard time believing most of our remaining players lack talent and that there's nothing that can be done with them, because if this team really is as hopeless at it appears talent-wise, then it's way past the time for someone to be taking a very hard look TT and his part in all of this. Despite my rant here (man, that felt good), I'm still going to hold on to the hope that we can get things clicking down the stretch... starting Thursday!
