They are trying to make themselves MORE money. Same thing goes for a team who has 'tradeable' players.  A HC/GM is not going to say 'no matter what, so-so will NOT be with our team' UNLESS they don't give a damn what they get in return, if anything. On the flip side a HC/GM who wants to dump someone will say they are wanted on the team and they look forward to them continuing to wear their teams uniform. Why? To show their player is worth MORE than just waiting for them to be scrapped up off the waiver wire and to get top dollar.Yes, true some GM/HC do say 'so-so will not be with us next year', that doesn't negate what i'm saying it just means not everyone is a good sales person. NFL is a business first, game second. Atleast that's what I've been realizing the last few years.</blockquote>
