Exactly half of the season has now passed and a good feel can now be established regarding current and future needs. From what I've seen here's how I feel the Pack's 4 biggest needs are 1. Defensive Tackle-- After the offensive line, the D-line is weakest position group on the team. BJ Raji has potential but seems to get knicked more easily and is on a snap count. Pickett is in his mid thirties and we desperately need a beefy successor. The other internal candidates on the roster are undersized to play a NT role. I think Thompson should take a DT high because the likelihood of finding a stud 4 round and below is very unlikely. 2. Center -- The drop off has been sizable this year from Wells to Saturday. Saturday is a slightly above average pass blocker and a markedly below average run blocker. Protecting our franchise should be paramount and beefing up this position would best enhance Rodgers overall performance moving forward. 3. Running Back -- Alex Green tripping over O- lineman's feet and falling backwards when hit by defender on a run to the outside is getting pretty commonplace these days. He is a horrible 2nd pick by Ted Thompson and we need to move on from that gaffe. Drafting a stud RB in the 1st round or 2nd would dramatically increase the Packers offensive success. This idea that we don't need a running game with Aaron Rodgers is ludricrous. Adding an Ahman Green type to Aaron Rodgers would send waves of fear into defensive coordinators throughout the league. 4. Backup QB -- Graham Harrell has for the most part stunk it up in exhibition performances. He also didn't look good at all when having to sub at the rare occasion he's been in there for A-rod for a play or two. The Packers should spend a top 4 pick on getting a talent upgrade at this position. And yes I know Brian Brohm was a 2nd rounder. Ugggghhh! My thought is that these positions should be addressed in the first 4 picks or in free agency.
