Really an hour later and nobody made this guy a thread yet?

From NFL dot Com: "Teams will be willing to take a chance on Cisse’s explosive athleticism and upside, but a refinement runway might be needed to smooth some of the rougher edges. He’s scheme-versatile in coverage and is an A-rated run supporter. Work ethic and athletic testing will work in his favor. However, a lack of instincts and break anticipation could cost him in coverage against quality route runners. His press will become a more effective weapon with technical work and his route recognition should improve with more reps. Cisse’s traits and competitiveness are clear selling points, but a lack of on-ball production and coverage consistency create a more volatile floor."

I would have but I'm busy at work. My lunch/dinner break ended right when Pack announced the pick. I thought someone would have been quicker on the draw.

I love that Cisse is only 20 yrs old, watched an interview he had with Richard Sherman, he said Stephon Gilmore has been a mentor to him. He can play outside or inside, so the versatility is there if he's needed to play the slot, if Bull has to play on the backend.

Sounds like an athlete and a willing tackler. I hope our position coach is up to the task. I'm glad we didn't get another long stringy guy.

In my defense I saw a LOT of SEC ball and don't know who the hell he is

From the brief 'research' I did

I love the athleticism
He seems very sticky in coverage
Love the physicality
Seems like a great kid, who knows and loves football

One thing that really stood out to me was that it looked like he was mostly in man?

That might be one angle. I think he’s got some similar traits to what we thought Hobbs was going to be. Plays the Run well but talent to move outside. Hobbs disappointed but it’s certainly plausible Cisse won’t in that role.

Thanks D I didn’t know Cisse was only 20 y/o.

I saw him going to GB in a number of mocks. There were also some edge guys like Dennis-Sutton from Penn St. Surprising to me that D-S is still on the board after rds 1-3.

I like the Cisse pick, over iDL and even Edge because 1) CB is the weakest group on the team and 2) there is no obvious #1guy (well, not obvious to me).

Cisse is no Valentine in the run defense category
Exactly. You’ll notice that both St Juste and Cisse are mirror opposites of Valentine as true Run disrupters.
That does not bode well for Valentine and it’s almost a clear statement. Especially if we draft CB again. Valentine could easily find himself 4 deep on the depth chart. I already have St Juste a tick better graded than Valentine.

Did you guys hear that Cisse's girlfriend is from Wisconsin and her and her family are huge Packers fans. It sounded like Cisse really wanted to get drafted by the Packers... maybe it was just meant to be.
Hopefully, a positive future for his family and friends.

Not sure if anyone noticed but both drafted players so far are graded high against the Run. Cisse reminds me of a Corner version of our Safety Evan Williams. Physical, downhill, attacking mentality
I'm glad Gluten went with a bigger body at CB. Cisse physically compares to Williams and Bullard - very physical guys.

Anyway I like the pick.

I did notice this. No one will ever accuse Nixon or Valentine of being good at run defense.

Cisse is a big corner and comfortable with playing close to the line. That may mean Gannon dials up more corner blitzes for him.

The B1G 10 is like this too.
They are literally the side of an entire NFL conference. I think it’s 34 official teams in the those top conferences combined.
Basically you could say those 2 conferences alone have more teams than the NFL, AFC NFC
