His was a strange entrance. He was the 4th best rated QB in his draft class. Behind Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral and Malik Willis. He actually got drafted just before Malik at #74 overall. His 4.52 40 time at 6’3” 211lb was the fastest of those QB testing at the combine. Obviously Malik is slightly faster, but I think he just did passing drills? because I didn’t see his times. Ridder also ran a blazing 1.54 10-yard and 10’7” Broad jump. Showcasing his top tier athletic makeup. He’s obviously an accurate QB, with good sample he’s running at 63.7% completion rate, which is good for limited level playing time. A little high on the INT ratio there but nothing crazy. Both Favre and Rodgers similarly had rough starts early in their careers. I think Jordan did struggle a little also, but you tend to even that ratio out some in most cases. Ridder got drafted just before Malik in RD3. It was a weak QB class. Especially at the top. Pickett was the only RD1 selection RD1(20) Eventually some good ones hit though. We all know about Malik and Brock Purdy. We never know as some QB’s just take a minute to assimilate. I think a full offseason program, camp, preseason work will be helpful. I’m not too worried about him the more I kinda see his makeup as I never really followed Ridder. One thing Ridder does have is Ability to Scoot when a play breaks down. In small sample 54 attempts? he’s averaging 5.6 per carry and 6 TD’s. That makes 1 in every 9 carries = a TD. Of his remaining Rushes 48% resulted in a 1st down. Him and Malik hold that in common. I think most of us would agree that Caleb Williams is a good scrambler. 1 in every 54 carries = TD 35.5% of his rushes resulted in a 1st Down. Exact same 5.6 per carry. Malik had 1 in every 18 Rushes = TD. 34% resulted in a 1st Down Ironically a similar 5.5 per carry.
