I have to stress...I in no way shape or form think GB needs to target a WR - even with the loss of Doubs likely and the already departure of Malik Heath last season. BUT of course Day 3 is always worth ignoring position at times and just drafting a guy you like and think might be that next Doubs or Wicks type guy. Also I will add with what Golden showcased and how much the team clearly liked getting Savion the ball in his hands - and our limited number of picks, I truly think Wicks or Reed may just be a trade candidate in order to bolster Gute's ability to build this team for the present and future better in the draft (wouldn't be shocked). That said here are a few WRs that I have around or just outside of my top 100 likely that IF there on Day 3 may be an attractive piece to add: Bryce Lance 6'3" 209lbs - South Dakota State A tall and long target that proved to be an incredible deep threat for the Bison over the last two years. Very experienced on STs as that was his role for two years only catching one ball in 2022/2023 seasons. 2024 he finally got his chance and BURST onto the scene putting up 1,069 yards on 75 catches (14.3 ypc) and SEVENTEEN touchdowns. Massive redzone threat and a guy who uses his frame like a Forward going up for a rebound. This past season he put up 1,079 yards on just 51 receptions (21.2 ypc) and 8 TDs. A crafty route runner who like all Bison WRs seeks out blocking assignments...I am not exxagerating that he is the slower version of his Bison counterpart Christian Watson. That lack of speed (likely runs in the 4.5s) is why he isn't going to garner higher than a 3rd round consideration likely but to grab an excellent WR with a similar abilty to Doubs to somehow slip past defenders with his route ability and has sure hands AND excellent blocker....I can think of far worse types of guys to bring in and let grow. Malachi Fields 6'4" 222lbs - Notre Dame by way of Virginia Like Lance above, chance he slips into the third but truthfully 4th is where I see him likely winding up UNLESS he shocks people with testing. Being a ND fan I saw what his massive catch radius can do for a QB and envision him being that excellent WR3 or 4 on an NFL roster for sure, possibly out the gate even. 5th year guy that has three years of starting outside experience (2 at VA and 1 at ND). Brenen Thompson 5'9" 170lbs - Mississippi State by way of Oklahoma (and Texas) Thompson was only lightly used in Oklahoma for two years, transfered to MissSt and became one of their primary weapons right out the gate - amassing 1,054 yards on 57 receptions (18.5ypr) and 6 TDs receiving with one rushing TD.
