Everyone knows I RARELY have ever said or defended the concept of taking a RB Day1 (this doesn't mean I don't have RBs ranked in my top 32 but that I don't believe it is wise use of picks Day 1)....that said enter Jeremiyah Love of Notre Dame. Look...this young man is just NASTY in every good sense of the word. Last year he finally got the reigns of being the lead back (in a LOADED backfield) and despite not getting as many carries as many leaders dude compiled 1,125 yards on the ground on just 163 attempts (6.9 ypc) and 237 yards receiving on just 28 receptions (8.5ypr). 19 total TDs. Remember in 2024 ND offense Riley Leonard led the team in rushing attempts with 184 and Jadarian Price got 120 rushing attempts...if Love had truly been a typical bell cow, he easily eclipses 2,000 yards and IMO is likely the concensus best RB over Ashton (who got 374 attempts) because unlike Jeanty Love is a true threat in the passing game and not just a ditch and dump option. This young man to me is NOT something Green Bay should target UNLESS we yet again are sitting at the end of Day1 AND Lloyd hasn't been able to stay healthy or shows he isn't ready to be a compliment to Jacobs. I cannot fathom the tandem of Jacobs and Love with Wilson in the third spot just making MLF drooling over his options. Jeremiyah Love...likely in my Top15 and a RB I fully will understand and advocate for a team to use a Day1 pick on depending on their team's structure and situation.
