I disagree with this assessment. The Bucks have a young roster and will play aggressively. They're going to get whipped a lot of times but they're also going to run the legs off the opposition because of youth as well. I have estimated up to 40 wins, but realistically probably 35 or 36 will be realistic.

I think the prognosticators have a problem evaluating this team because they don't see the potential that's in some of these players when they get a chance to play their game instead of being secondary players to someone else's game. We're loaded at guard, as well as 3 and center. With luck, one of the centers will step up, along with a big 3, and fill the role of a 4. The Bucks may well field what would be considered a 3 guard offense and defense since we do have perimeter players with length.

I don't believe for a heartbeat they'll end up with 24 or 25 wins.

I've watched 3 of the 5 preseason games the Bucks have played on the internet and TV. They have respectable talent on the team, some of it very young and experienced, but they will grow. What they also have is a glut of decent players and will have to part with several of them to get the roster pared down. What impressed me most is that when they go down to 2nd and 3rd level players on the floor, they totally outplay the opposition, showing the depth of the team.

What's still lacking is that #1 player who can knock the ball down from anywhere on the floor and be a difference maker that sparks the rest of the team to play better. Still, Herro looks like he could be that guy. We won't know until they get a fair distance into the season.

One thing that I noticed is different already. They can play defense at the upper levels of the team.

Bucks took a 12-point kick in the slats in the opener last night with Washington. I was "watching" on the CBS Sports app, off and on. Appeared they made a game of it and then "packed 'er in" in the 4th. Don't recognize many of the names in the box score, but that'll come I suppose.

Giannis in Miami did the usual Giannis things. 35 points but fouled out. 35 points in 29 minutes. Not big on Miami, but I'll check them out because of the Giannis/Portis connection.

I watched it last night and couldn't believe how bad the officials were. They must have thought Trae Young and Anthony Davis could do no wrong. Both got away with repeated fouls and were given free throws when they themselves were the ones who fouled. The NBA has always been that way but for the Bucks, it's going to be a difficult year handling the quick whistle against them.

The Bucks did not play badly to be honest. They should have won that game. When the officials started calling phantom fouls against the Bucks and nothing against the Wizards, I knew it was over and there was still nearly a quarter to play.

I'll keep watching but might start drifting away because it's the same old BS when it comes to officiating and it's gotten to the point that it's totally ruining the game.

Was it, perhaps, one of those deals where the established player gets the ref's "benefit of the doubt"? I don't know, I've kind of ascribed to the prevailing thought that the NBA has become largely unwatchable because it's no longer the game I played (poorly) and watched as a young guy. Perhaps due to the Leagues being in bed with gambling interests? I want to categorically state that I'm not a conspiracy around every corner kinda guy but, I'm casting a suspicious eye to nearly everything sports related these days.

Yes. The stars always get treated like they can do nothing wrong out there. I get the feeling the league office wants it that way. I saw it with Giannis too. He got away with mayhem all the time.
