    Draft picks. Who and why???

I agree. I think Johnson has way more upside, even if he'll only be a pass rushing specialist as a rookie. The USC kids are really tempting, but I don't want this team to become the Lions or Bengals where we only focus on skill positions and don't take care of the lines. It doesn't matter how...

    Draft picks. Who and why???

Everette Brown out of FSU is another DE prospect that we should look at. He's an underclassmen, but if he declares he could be another solution to our pass rush problems. Finding a pass rushing interior linemen in the 2nd or 3rd round would help too.

    Draft picks. Who and why???

I think we need to go for a defensive linemen with the first pick. It was a glaring weakness this year, and the best DT or DE should be taken with the pick. However, this is a deep year for OTs (if most of the top underclassmen declare), and Clifton is getting older. So maybe we go LT with the...

Rodgers' first year was not bad, but he needs lot of work on

I think that's a fair assessment. Also, I think at times Aaron holds onto the ball a bit too long. Still, it was a good first year, and he should improve going forward.

Reasons to be Optimistic for 2009

I really like Mays, if we're looking at USC for defensive help.

    Wade Phillips.

The d-line might work, but Kampman isn't really a 34 DE. The outside linebackers won't work either. Neither of them rushes the passer well enough to play the position in a 3-4. Plus, Barnett doesn't fit that scheme either. He'd likely struggle with the transition like Vilma did when the Jets...

    Wade Phillips.

Wade Phillips runs a 34, the Pack run a 43. There really isn't a fit, unless you guys are willing to go through a transition year or two. I think our biggest problem on defense is along the defensive line. There's no problem with just rushing four, but you need depth along the line to always...

Dr. Z Sports Illustrated picks Vikes for Super Bowl

Making Packer fans mad isn't really a good reason to fire a guy. He criticized Favre a lot, but when you throw picks like Favre did a few years ago, the criticism is warranted. Anyways, who cares about a silly Super Bowl prediction anyways. They're just fluff pieces to give the average fan...

    5 most improved packers

I was thinking the same. Chillar and Poppinga are both 2-down linebackers, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to use him as a cover linebacker. That way we can get all our talented safeties on the field.

What top 6 rated player is going to flop?

You're saying Ryan Grant is thick? The difference is Grant plays tough, while McFadden falls down as soon as he gets hit.

    Michael Fabiano's OL Projections

Our line still has some work to do. Most of the season, the quick passing game helped cover up some of the flaws in the line, since the front five didn't have to hold protection for long. Look what happened in the early part of the Dallas game when we tried some deeper developing patterns. The...

Windbag McShay gets a verbal beatdown...

Well Woodson didn't leave early, Packnic, he was a senior. One of the problems with mock drafts is they only look at big school guys, and after the first round teams will start to take D1-AA and D-II players, so big school guys like Woodson will slip. Another part just comes with...

I wonder what Jagz thinks of Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers?

He'd probably prefer Ryan. They won a lot of games last year without high end talent because of Ryan.

What top 6 rated player is going to flop?

I don't know why McFadden isn't on the poll. Mendenhall and Stewart will both be better pros IMO. McFadden has blazing speed, but he's skinny and fumbles alot. I think he'll be better than another college speedster, Reggie Bush, but he's not gonna be an Adrian Peterson-like stud that a lot of...

They have a 2009 Mock Draft up.

Really? I've never seen it. When he's not playing football he's doing missionary work with his parents in the Philipines. Sure he's made some comments about not wanting to switch positions in the NFL, but with his production in college I'm sure he wants at least a fair shot at QB before...
