Sam Darnold hasn't been even mediocre, ever. The Vikes OL can't protect anyone, evidenced by Cousins being the most -hit QB in '22 (it seems. I didn't actually look it up, yet).
Agree, if his experience trumps some rookie OT's physical talents & he sticks it's a win. If he continues his '23-turnstyle-ways then give all of his reps to a young guy. No downside until the real games start in September.
Don't want to perpetuate an error as we discuss Clark... his B-day is 10/04/1995 which has him turning 29 yrs old by game 6 this year.
Imho, let him play out this year, move on in '25, & we'll take the '26 4th or 5th Rnd comp pick. I love Clark, but fear a bigger 3yr deal & then an injury...
Agreed. Clark already counts $13.747mil dead money in '25 IF they don't extend him so not sure how much Gute should add to that for a 29 yr old DT? May be time to move on.
Packers currently have almost $22mil cap space. After 6/01 Campbell's cut frees up another $10mil. The rookie pool (with current picks) stands at $12mil...leaving GB with roughly $20mil left in early June.
An extension of Clark could free up a nice chunk of cap ($7-$10mil from his current...
I still think Gute (& other GM's) will place a premium grade on younger players. A 23 or 24 yr old rookie is a poor investment, as 2nd contract comes when a player is pushing 28 yrs old. Kenny Clark is 28 and looking for his 3rd contract...he's an amazing investment. Just don't know how soon...
I am SO late to the game, giving more time & effort at work than they deserve. ;)

Hope the dumba$$ NFL scheduler who decided on teams & location for this game is already searching for a new job. What an unnecessary sh!tshow. GB probably in gaudy gold/blue throwback jersey with Eagles in white?
Sao Paulo is 2 hours ahead of CDT. Direct flight is 11 hours, so hoping they head south on Wednesday to acclimate & get right for Friday afternoon/evening game. Think facing Philly early is better than mid-season. Hope this keeps GB off of the overseas schedule for'25.
