The interesting take on this whole drafting Love for the future and becoming a run first, run second, play action pass third team... Rodgers should be healthy the entire time and Love will NEVER see the field. Rodgers won't show Love how to become a better QB because all MLF wants Rodgers to do...
Maybe we can re-create what the Niners have done with run first (even though they are starting to add highly drafted WR's) offense. The problem though is that our defense is literally not even close to being as strong. Their defensive front is heads and shoulders better than ours... their LB's...
Sadly ILB and DT weren't improved at all in my opinion. Martinez was durable and played almost all the games possible. He looked very good against Seattle in the playoffs when we dominated the LoS. Against the Niners, he looked like **** because the Niners controlled the line and decimated us...
While I agree Kirksey is better than Martinez... but the injuries bother me. Martinez didn't miss many games for us... while Kirksey has missed a lot the last 2 years.
WR wise... we only have Adams and Lazard that have proven themselves... maybe just Adams. Funchess and ESB are unknowns. I hope...
We actually might be one of the only teams that got worse from last year.
Downgrade at ILB, downgrade at OT, same WR crew, same DT crew... so basically same can't stop the run like last year, our impact players are the same as last year... so if we have more injuries than last year... we'll be...
Backup Kicker, Backup Punter, Backup TE, Backup RB... seems to be our theme this year... draft those backups instead of players that are needed in positions of need.
Gute comes out and says we are here to win now... yet none of us knew that we were a backup QB, a 3rd string RB, and a 4th string TE away from winning the Super Bowl. I thought we were a DT, ILB, and WR#2 away, but damn I was wrong.
Two draft picks in... and we haven't seen one player that is going to help this team this year. 13-3 and one game from the Super Bowl and instead of fixing our holes, we've decided to improve our back ups. Good job...
Queen and Madubuike would have helped our run defense
D'Andre Swift and Josh...
true... if I won the lottery, I would be happy too.
a 4th rounder, 5th rounder, and a 7th rounder could have easily been replaced with a better than average chance 2nd rounder to repeat what the Packers seem so good to draft. Josh Jackson to a DJ Chalk, Christian Kirk, or Anthony Miller would...
While drafting a WR wasn't necessary in the first round. I just find it to be a massive mistake to not at address the problem we have stopping the run. Currently, I'm not sure we are actually better than we were last year with Martinez at stopping the run. We probably are even worse since...
Defensively over the past 10 years... there has definitely been put forward an effort to improve the defense. Much of the results haven't panned out as intended while some have. Offensively though... we have been **** poor on getting better. Our WR crew was amazing, but sadly no real effort has...
