When it comes down to it, this interview has to be viewed as a blown opportunity for Favre. Instead of coming out and giving precise answers, it largely turned into the ranting of a former player who looks bitter, selfish and stubborn. Favre should have picked a better interviewer for this...

That's for sure. No sugar-coating about it, but I wonder if TT is thinking along the same lines. He's always struck me as the Mr. Spock of the GM world.

Ideally, retirement. But, since that's not likely, TT should trade and get what he can for him. It's clear that Favre is no longer in the team's plans and since he no longer wants to cut grass and chop wood all day, the only real option is to pull off a trade. No way Favre gets to walk away...

That part of the interview really put Brett in a bad light. It made him look like just another player who thinks he knows what is best for the team. It certainly didn't help his cause when he said that.

I think regardless of where anyone stands on this issue, tolerance for this silliness is running thin. Distraction for a football team is bad. Distraction from the team's former quarterback for the last 16 years is killer. I truly hope that this is all resolved by the time training camp...

I didn't get a chance to see the interview last night (moving, no tv service), but this whole Favre affair just flat out stinks. It stinks for Favre, it stinks for TT and MM and most of all, it stinks for the fans. It's as if we're all watching a messy divorce and we as fans have to deal with...

I was thinking the same thing. How does someone get a season ticket and root exclusively for Favre? It takes what, 30-40 years to get one? I'm so far down that list, it's unlikely I'll ever get one. I would never dream of pulling my name off because of this situation.

I'd say that the Packers have the upper hand, but not in the way they want it. They sit on Favre, look like jerks in the process. Favre becomes the good guy who just wants to play, and Packers management becomes the mean bunch who won't let him do it. They control the strings, but Favre sure...
