Posted Nov. 28, 2005 CHRIS HAVEL How true it is: ‘All we can do is be a spoiler’ PHILADELPHIA — Ron Wolf was right. The Green Bay Packers are playing with a motley crew of NFL Europe-caliber players at the skill positions, and all that unskilled labor is proving to be too much to overcome in the NFL. Samkon Gado, ReShard Lee and Andrae Thurman may become quality NFL players one day, but that day wasn’t Sunday in a 19-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. That unsung, unheralded and largely unknown trio — along with four-year veteran Tony Fisher — fumbled away any chance the Packers had to pull off an upset. It’s a tired refrain with no reason to think it will improve between now and the New Year’s Day season finale. If only the Frankfurt Galaxy or Rhein Fire were next on the schedule. Instead, it’s the NFC North Division-leading Chicago Bears, who will undoubtedly have blood in their eyes and revenge in their hearts. As ugly as the Packers’ second half was in Philadelphia, it may be a holiday celebration compared with what they will face next week at Soldier Field, where Packers quarterback Brett Favre has all but owned the Bears. “I’m sure people in Chicago are tickled that we’re losing,†
