Wednesday Green Bay announced that running back Cedric Benson has been placed on injured reserve but with the opportunity to play again this season after eight weeks. Benson injured his left foot in Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. The type of injured Benson suffered is termed medically as a "Lisfranc injury<span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: 'Mercury SSm A'"><span style="color: #292929">".</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>Benson will miss six weeks of practice and then could return to game action in eight weeks. He'll be eligible to return Week 14 against Detroit.</p><p> </p><p>If the first five weeks of the season are any indication, expect to see Alex Green over James Starks as the starter. It's been all Benson-but Green has at least seen some action, with Starks and Brandon Saine watching from the sidelines.
