    DE Ryan Pickett's (eventual) replacement?

I gave Bjoern Werner a mention because I saw a couple mock drafts with him going to the 49ers, and I am well aware that we use a 3-4, where most college DEs play OLB, so there you go. Anyway, Khaled Holmes is an enticing option at C for us, and he might be available at the end of the 2nd round...

Mocking the 2013 draft (first 2 rounds)

Oh yeah, that's right, forgot all about Bishop cause he was injured... And PFanCan, I think you might be right, that performance last Sunday was absolutely pathetic.

Mocking the 2013 draft (first 2 rounds)

I was thinking DL for Picket's eventual replacement, but who knows? We may already have that with Daniels, our 4th rounder (Worthy is our answer to losing Cullen Jenkins in FA last year), sort of like the Ravens getting a steal in McPhee in the 5th round. And Tyler Eifert is another guy I'd...

Mocking the 2013 draft (first 2 rounds)

I know, on paper, we are (ATM) seen by many as one of the more complete teams in the league (every team has at least a couple gaping holes), but we have so many future needs... Jeff Saturday is getting up there in age, plus we could use some O-Line help, so USC C Kalhed Holmes seems like the...

    2012 Draft - Round 1, Pick 28, Overall 28 - Nick Perry, DE, USC

What I don't understand is... why don't they just do what the 9ers did with Aldon Smith (another 4-3 DE transitioning to OLB in their 3-4 scheme) and "ease" him in by using him in purely pass rushing situations on obvious passing plays (3rd and longs)? That obviously worked out well, 14 sacks in...

    DE Ryan Pickett's (eventual) replacement?

^Yahoo Sports lists Picket as our starting LDE, which is partially why I raised the issue. As a backup NT, he's fine, but he's not a starting DE in the NFL, anymore, because all he's good for is run support and freeing up blockers, like I said. If we had a starting LDE who can do all that AND...

    Jay Cutler wants press coverage

You know, I guess it's true what they say, eh? "Be careful what you wish for, Jay, you just might get it". :D :sneaky: ;)

    DE Ryan Pickett's (eventual) replacement?

Hey guys... I was just wonderin'... since Ryan Pickett's getting up there in age (not to mention he's not so much a pass rusher as he is a run stuffer/guy who absorbs blockers on our D-Line, imagine us having 2 pass-rushing DEs in our 3-4 like the Texans have with J.J. Watt and Antonio Smith...

    Man to Man Defense

We were playing man-to-man coverage effectively in 2010 with Woodson, Tramon, Shields and Co., and guess what? We had the 5th ranked defense and won the Super Bowl with that scheme. And low and behold, those same guys are still here. I understand we couldn't really play man coverage last year...

    We Are Not "Beating Ourselves"

Or maybe the proper phrase here was "figured out how to play." It's not like our defense hasn't been sucking for quite a while already.

Official Packers Vs Bears Thread TNF 9-13-12

My thoughts: 1. PLAY SOME DAMN MAN COVERAGE! I was foaming in the mouth shouting at my TV all game at how many times we kept our DBs spaced 10 inches from SF's receivers, leaving them wide open. Do what worked for us in 2010, that is playing some man coverage. Tramon Williams is healthy again...

HUGE GAME THURSDAY-Time to move on

^^^Maybe not, but MAN will this game put us in a bad spot going forward if we lose. Then we'll be 0-2 heading to Seattle, which is always a tough place to win at, and we could potentially start the season 0-3 if all holds. Imagine what that'll do to us mentally if we start the season 0-2 heading...

What made you a Packers fan?

Uhh... my being born and raised there. And they're still my main/go-to team, even though I currently live in Charlotte, NC (moved here when I was 11, about 13 years ago). I mean, it's not like the Panthers will be going anywhere anytime soon, or have as of late.

HUGE GAME THURSDAY-Time to move on

^Agreed, though granted, I DID see some things from our defense during our preseason games (particularly our preseason game against Cincinnati, where we held them to less than 200 yards even with our backups playing against their starters for part of the 2nd half) that I didn't recall seeing at...

Packers and Giants -- In Search of a Defense and a Running Game

To the OP (and Forderick): you won't see any excuse-making from me, I'll give you that the Giants were the better team that day, and as a Pack fan, Matthews' recent comments absolutely embarrassed me, especially from a team that's been known to usually give teams their due after a game. And like...
