Ted Thompson Era Should Be Over

I'm not sure how much it's going to matter until they figure out why these injuries keep happening. This has gone on for nearly the entirety of Mike McCarthy's tenure. Now I'm not saying injuries were the reason for this performance; this defense would've been shredded at full health. But it's...

    Packers Smoking Weed???

I heard a similar accusation with 3 players last year. Wouldn't surprise me.

    We Need Another Finley Thread

At least it's only for one year. Now he can either put up or shut up in a contract year.

What to do with Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley?

Well if the reports of the front office wanting to release him after the 2012-13 season were to be believed (those came out mid-December), it's hard to see them suddenly wanting to get into a longer marriage with him. But if he's willing to sign another contract where he gets very little...

What to do with Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley?

We'll I didn't know if it fit in the Greg Jennings talk thread or that other J-Mike thread since it's about both players... so I created a voting poll for it.

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

If Quarless can return from injury, I'm happy with him. EDIT: NM about Pitta--- I see what you're saying. Still don't think he's that good but he is a pass-catcher.

What to do with Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley?

Interested to see what the consensus is with Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley. Now that we know Finley won't re-do his contract for less money, Packers can save $8.25M if they cut him by Mar. 27. Jennings is an unrestricted free agent. If they use the franchise tag on him, he's projected...

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

Those are valid points. Williams (or any of the TEs on the roster) may not be that good. Of course, they may be good. Won't know unless they play more. With Finley, we have a five-year sample size. We know what we're getting with him: A player who'll make about 60 catches, 5-6 touchdowns per...

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

I'm just saying. No Finley, yet someone else was still able to break the seams. WRs still get open. This whole "Double and triple coverage on Finley all the time" doesn't mean much. This offense does just fine when he's not on the field. What do they lose? Finley used to be the guy who could...

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

Not really. Yet when he's not in the game, the other WRs don't suffer from his absence (e.g. 2010). And despite having more defenders who can pay attention to every other WR, Tom Crabtree still finds openings. So no, I don't buy into the theory that if we lose Finley, our WRs will never get...

    Fine. He's a not a zero blocker. He's just a very poor blocker :-)

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

They have D.J. Williams. Besides, Finley isn't much of a threat. Two touchdowns + zero blocking + tons of baggage doesn't = $8.25 million TE.

Finley should stay...and Packers should pay him his money!

Honestly, if you're going to have a one-dimensional TE, then his one-dimensional ability needs to come in blocking. Otherwise, he's just another WR. Packers aren't the only team with this problem. Titans have the same exact kind of TE (Jared Cook). For the most part, same exact problems...
