ASHWAUBENON - Members of the Green Bay Packers will guest star on “WWE Friday night SmackDown.”
The show tapes tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon.
WWE officials state in a release that members of the team will get their own WWE Championships in front of their hometown fans:
“(The) Green Bay Packers have been celebrating touchdowns and big plays by motioning to a title around their waist during the Packers amazing quest to the Super Bowl. Now, Packer players will get their own WWE titles to wear.”
There is no word on which players will appear.
The episode will air Friday at 7 p.m. on Syfy.

Packers to get WWE Championships

Been awhile since I've watched wrestling, but I just might have to catch this.

Why on Syfy?
Isn't that the science fiction network?
Not that I don't believe you.
It just seems odd to have it on there.
Unless they switched formats or something.

(Have to check this out. The internet is my friend.)

it was SciFi...idiots at NBC decided they wanted a more versatile format about two years ago and changed the name, they've had wrestling for a few years now

I despise NBC for changing my SciFi station :( :boredom::hunter:

It is odd but it's true. The Smackdown side of WWE has been really shaky with networks, and I think Sci Fi took this up to bring back ratings for the network because they were going to tank. Just my guess though.

WWE's been on Syfy for a couple years. I don't really know why.

WWE SmackDown is a professional wrestling television program for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). As of 2010[update] it airs on Syfy in the United States as WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

only because NBC is full of morons
No kidding, this sort of reminds me of when G4, the video game based channel, totally got man handled and destroyed. That channel was 100% 24/7 video games related, now they play re runs of cops, cheaters, ****** movies, and nothing about games.

While on the subject of channels switching formats:
Court TV is now Tru Tv.
They just used to show court cases, but now it's gotten worse showcasing criminals on the streets doing crimes and getting caught with Z-list celebs and former child stars giving commentary.

I'm just waiting for the day when the death penalty will finally be pay-per view.
Or when a child molester gets caught when it's entrapment. NBC would never stoop that low. Would they?
Oh, wait....

There really is some sick stuff out there that they think is entertainment.
(OK - Tangent rant over.)

My worst nightmare will be the day MTV stops being a music channel.
And when they show a bunch of loonys doing crazy stunts that has nothing to do with music.(Except for a cool theme song and a wangy guitar before and after commercial breaks.)
Oh wait...

Where is that Paul Bearer guy when we need him! Remember that poster that came during the Bears game?

Sadly my Uncle works with a guy who actually stopped watching football (and NASCAR too) because he thought it was becoming too much like professional wrestling. I'm guessing with the theatrics and personalities like T.O.

I dunno, I think a lot of it is funny as long as it doesn't interfere or distract from the game. The Packers won the SB, they can have and play with all the title belts they want!

My grandparents owned a bowling alley and bar where a lot of old wrestlers (and packers) would hang out when they were in town.

Does anyone remember when Reggie, Gilbert and a few other d-linemen were on WCW after the superbowl in 97? If I remember Reggie got hit with a briefcase and it looked so phony.
