I am sure that such people do exist... that think we must draft defense no matter what because Rodgers doesn't not help. However, those people are few and far between. They certainly aren't the people you're talking to now. And to just assign that motivation to everyone who disagrees with you about Sutton makes you a troll, no different from our friend @Mike McCarthy here. For the record, I have argued with such people on this board-- posters that said we should let Adams walk because Rodgers can get by with anyone. That's stupid. I'm not sure how many more times I'm going to try to explain this, but once again... I am not opposed to drafting offensive help with our first pick. I would take Barkley at #14. I would really take Nelson at #14. I. Just. Don't. Think. Other. Offensive. Players. Are. As. Good. As. The. Defensive. Prospects. At. The. Top. Of. This. Class. And this is not an unusual opinion in this class! Excluding the QB's and Nelson/Barkley: Jeremiah's top offensive player is Guice at #17. Sutton outside of his top 50. Zierlein has Ridley at #7 and after that the next offensive guy is Ronald Jones at #14. Sutton at #56. Brugler has Ridley at #10 and after that the next offensive guy is Ronald Jones at #17. Sutton at #43. The top of PFF's board is heavily defensive. Sutton at #31. This does NOT mean that they're necessarily right about Sutton or the class in general (I actually think they're generally too low on him!). I understand that there are guys like the new CBS crew that love Sutton a lot and rate him high (5th?). But I just tend to agree with these guys and am familiar with them (I have no idea who the CBS guys are). What this DOES mean is that it's a pretty normal assessment of this class that, after Barkley, Nelson, and the QB's, it favors defense at the top. So naturally most people are going to like the defensive prospects. It's silly for you to assign ulterior motives or act aghast when people express a pretty common opinion about this class. If you want to do that, that's fine. I'll just put you back on ignore and you can pitch all the fits you want. But if you'd like to actually have conversations, you should understand this.
