So week 2 is here and these games are going to be very fun, gonna have to get NFL Redzone fired up and tune in: Not paying much attn. to Thursday's game, but skipping to Sunday: 49ers @ Panthers could be a huge one - A real litmus test on the road for Kelly's 49ers. Certainly they aren't the favorite to win this, but if they did ... well the Panthers wouldn't be out of the running for their division title by any stretch, but it could certainly knock em way down from any number 1 seed hope, and if you're a team that's supposed to be the NFC darlings, you really can't start 0-2 without losing a big head of confidence. Talking points certainly change if that happens. Titans @ Lions - Might have to keep an eye on Detroit here. Certainly the Titans are a team that they should be expected to beat, but getting to 2-0 might boost Detroit's confidence up pretty high. Chiefs @ Texans - These 2 teams met in the playoffs and it was a lopsided affair. This one should be much closer and could have big playoff seeding implications. X-factor could be whether or not JC sees the field. Saints @ Giants - Was a pretty high scoring affair last year with almost all offense and no D. Gotta think the Giants are probably favored to win this at home and with a D that has been improved some over last year, but expect some fireworks in this one. Saints have talent but you gotta figure they can't afford to start 0-2. Bengals @ Steelers - Looks like another year with this series being the division winner decider. Redskins @ Cowboys - Both teams really need the win here, maybe the Redskins more so. I just gotta think after being completely embarrassed last Monday and coming off a short week, if they lose this game Jay Gruden's probably going to lose the locker room much quicker than if not and his days in DC will be numbered. And Kirk Cousins' rope will get all that much shorter too. Buccaneers @ Cardinals / Falcons @ Raiders - Listed these games jointly because the Bucs and Raiders both could end up starting the season 2-0, for the Bucs a rare achievement only accomplished 4x in the last 20 years, once in 1997, 2000, 2005, and 2010. Looks to be a great matchup in Oakland between Carr and Cooper against Ryan and Jones. Seahawks @ Rams - The homecoming for LA and Jeff Fisher is going to have to clean up that mess he took to SF in a hurry this week. The Colts' D got more battered with injuries last week and is going to have to do better against Seimien and Anderson if they hope to win. But I certainly expect the drama to build here. Then of course, 2 top-notch prime time games with us at Minny and Philly at Chicago, lotta things we're going to find out this week.
