Depends what the salary cap is (if there is one). If we can afford to keep him at that price, then whatever. If we can't then he's either got to restructure or leave.

I don't know why people think Thompson won't do it. Once you trade Favre, anything's possible.

Packers tend to cut it pretty close with profit and loss (which they should as its not there to make $ for an owner) so it might be better to be on the safe side and save 4.5 million and just draft someone.

But I agree completely, people are foolish if they dont think there is a chance he will be cut. I would if it came down to it. Its about winning, nothing more. To quote Al Davis, just win baby.
