I feel like we have a new kick returner every single time we go out there. Who do you think should have the job? I think the only options are;

Jordy Nelson-I don't think we should use him again, fumbles too much.
Greg Jennings-Too valuable.
Tramon Williams-Too valuable.
James Starks-Didn't look great tonight. And I think he's too valuable at this point.
Sam Shields-Can't seem to run straight though he does have great speed and has come close to breaking a few.
Pat Lee-Decent speed, not too valuable and has had a few nice returns.

Out of all the options I would have to go with Lee, though I wouldn't mind seeing Shields back there either. Shields has just gotta run straight on his returns.

Anyway, who would you like to see return kicks?

i think shields is too valuable at this point too despite his potential to break one because he allows woodson to do so much more than cover on that d. i dont fancy seeing bush or any of our other corners in nickel d do you??? i would go with lee he seems pretty safe and has shown flashes of being a decent returner and with our offence and defence thats all we need.

I think we should draft an accomplished return specialist this year, but for now, I would agree on Lee. He's got a little wiggle but makes decisive cuts. Not a burner, but fast enough. I'd go with him or Shields, but Shields is quickly becoming too valuable too.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a good return by Lee set us up for some points against the Bears in week 17?

Just like our running backs? Well in one hand it helps if there is an injury, in the other hand there is nothing spectacular and what happens when the day comes and ARod isn't playing too hot and we need the field position.

Killing the buzz.
I say we stick Kuhn back there. Anyone gets near him on the return and he'll just hurdle them. Or run 'em over. :p

I think our special teams is our Achilles's heal...been all season...but as long as the other phases of the game play like they have been, it makes up for it at the moment...I can see us getting a dynamic returner in the draft, I'm sure there are quite a few of them, and where ever we pick TT will make the right choice...TT is a "pro-bowl" GM right now :happy0005:

I'm just afraid our special teams will come back to bite us next week.

Haha, I hold my breath on kickoffs. I think I'd pass out watching him take one to the house.

One of the few weaknesses on the team that TT will take care of this off season, along with a new coach to coach 'em.

I'm bringing this old threat back up because it still concerns me. Starks has not impressed me at all as kick returner. I will once again say that we should use Pat Lee(after all, he was a 2nd round draft pick might as well get some use out of him).

Thoughts?

Packers could have Raji running kicks back and I'd be worried that he'd spring one, every time. Steelers' kickoff coverage is always a heartstopper.

I'm not getting why we got away from Shields.

Shields is an interesting option and he did come close to breaking a few returns, but he runs left to right too often which gave us horrible field position. And I think he's quickly becoming too valuable(I don't like Tramon on the punt returns).

Tramon should do it one last time, he is important but the win is more important. Let him do it for one last game and hope he goes out in style.

That's one thing we need to concentrate on this years draft. Either a good DB with return ability or possibly a WR (even though were loaded). Desmond Howard was the last really decent return man we had and he was beyond great. Just the difference in field position could mean the difference of a few wins or losses.

I am fine with Lee and possibly Starks. Jordy takes way too long to get through 1st gear and is down by the 15, Shields can't judge the ball and either has to go back for it or run way up to it and that throws off the whole return. I am more concerned with some of the dumb **** I saw Tramon doing on punt returns though like standing in the danger zone when he lets it roll or picking it up on a hop with defenders right there and of course taking his eye off the ball.
