My guess would be some time in July before Brees gets his contract. He better make it a good one as it will likely be his last. Brees turned 33 April 19th. IMO If I were Brees I'd want a 7 yr contract & in the 6th yr I(Brees)would have the option of retiring or coming back. Year 7 the Aints would have the option to pick up his last year or not. The Aints want to pay him about $18M,he wants about $22-23M. I'd go for a 7 yr $155M which avgs $22.142 per yr. Front load it where he gets about $25M the first 3 yrs. That leaves $80M for the last 4 yrs. Yrs 4-5 $22M $18M the last 2 if they're played by him.
