Clay Watch. I saw the same thing, RS. Looks like he's back! I also agree with your reasoning for the lack of sacks. That's not all him. Sometimes it takes more than 1 player to make a sack, but only 1 gets credit for it. Collins out is hurting us bad but it looks like we are learning to adapt without him. Peprah has stepped up today and I'm really impressed with him.
With Matthews I think it's a matter of him assuming a different role on a changing defense. It's just not the Clay we are used to. It says something about his strength as a player that he is able to adapt. Could it be he is even better than last year but just in a different way?
I still think the injuries are slowing him somewhat but I'm also glad we didn't bench him! LOL! Can you imagine this game without him? It may of gone from a blowout to a slightly slanted shootout!
Did you see the sack Bishop got that was actually because Clay had forced Orton out of the pocket and stepped up right into the hands of Bishop. Bishop gets the stat but that sack was all Clay. I watched him time and time again keep on motoring after what looked like an initial hit to take him out of a play. The way he was relentlessly pursuing on every down didn't look like a guy with a physical issue to me. We just need to get someone else that coaches have to game plan for, right now there really isn't a beast on the other side to worry about. Things will work them selves out.
I have rolled the bones and I predict that next week the Claymaker will be feasting on Falcon under glass.
