Johnsonville Brats, cooked in beer and caramelized onions, then grilled(charcoal) then back to the beer to keep them warm. Sauerkraut, mashed potato's, sweet potato's and a Leinenkugel.

Home made chicken and apricot curry with chips and an ice cold beer was superb last night. A bit fiddly to make but worth all the effort. :)

    Hey buggybill,

Ever eat Meatloaf , it is very good if it is prepared well. Gravy may be made from the drippings. Fresh bread , white rice , a green vegetable (broccoli , green beans , or garden peas) . A cold beverage.

Desert: Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream

I`ve made a kind of meatloaf Smokey, with a layer of mac and cheese through it. Very Italian in flavors but not too bad, but not quite to my taste unfortunately.

Wife fired up the charcoal grill for a buffet tonight. Neighbor raised T-bones and burgers. From the same butcher, brats and cheese brats. Homestyle hotdogs. Still from the grill, garden raised baby golden potatoes, green beans, Swiss chard, sauteed peppers and onions with mushrooms. Grilled shrimp (not local) Also home raised creamy cucumber salad, sliced fresh tomatoes, and cheddar cheese from the neighborhood cheese factory. All washed down with ice chilled Coors light served in our front yard. Will be firing up the bonfire later.

What drippings are there from meatloaf except the grease? Bet it do make good gravy though.
For meatloaf I like to throw in either Italian sausage or a few uncooked breakfast sausages mixed in the beef. Just enough for flavor. I've used barbecue sauce, shredded cheese, various types of tomato products, spicing. One thing I learned though was to make it in mini loaf pans. I can make various flavors to sample and it also cooks really fast. Like throw it in the oven, prepare potatoes and eat fast.

Yes, a simple meatloaf (onions, green peppers, bread crumbs, salt/pepper, an egg, diced tomatoes, & a good grade of ground beef.
Mix in the correct proportions, form into a loaf & place in a cast iron skillet. Place in oven at 350 degrees and bake. When done remove meatloaf to a platter and use the same skillet to make a delicious Brown gravy (flower, water, salt/pepper, and I add a tablespoon of Kitchen Bouquet). Gravy is a Southern tradition, I sometimes saute chopped onions before adding the flower and other ingredients. I agree it is not at the top of the most healthy list, but is fine once or twice a year. A delicious treat, savored conservatively.

We have a large charcoal grill. When we fire it, it is for several meals. I need to get a projector so I can sit by the bonfire and watch movies or sports outside on the garage wall. BTW, most of the food I listed has been ingested and digested already. Maybe enough meat for 1 meal and a snack left.

Sauce Bolognese is a tomato sauce with minced beef, onions, carrots and spices. Easy to cook, very delicious.

When I'm extra hungry, yes. Also I'm a large man too. Fried eggs are my favorite, but scrambled/poached/ or in a kishe is just fine.

Egg's, like most foods should be enjoyed sensibility. Like a boiled egg in a large Chef Salad or for Saturday breakfast !

Tonite I join friends for dinner at a nice local Italian restaurant. I plan to order the Lasagna and a glass of red wine.
The Salad and fresh Bread with butter come with the meal. Food, friends, and nice atmosphere should make for a pleasant evening .

Last night had deep fried cheese curds and some huge nacho thing at Lambeau Field. Washed down of course with a brewski or three.
