We are headed into the Draft about 3 weeks away, and there is still a few holes left.

What holes do you think needs to be filled and what is the priority?

Mine:
1) O-Line
2) Linebackers
3) Secondary
4) Wide Recievers

(assuming if Brett returns)

I pretty much agree with your priorities. However, it is not a good idea to approach the draft that way. If you think in terms of filling a hole with a certain pick instead of taking the best player, you will reach, and bypass some great players. If the best player available happens to fill a need, great. But if not, you should take the best player. That said, there are some great linebackers in this draft, so it would make sense for TT to take advantage of that situation. The fact that linebacker is a need area is a bit of good fortune for the Packers.

this is all over the other topics but....

id say

1a. Interior O-line
1b. Secondary (Carroll needs a replacment
2. I think D-Line could use a little more depth especially inside
3. Wide Reciever
4. Linebackers ( i kinda like what we got now in thomas/hawk/taylor but Hawk would be awesome

Mine is
1-OG
2-CB\secondary
3-LBs
4-WR

I put Cbs 2 for a couple reasons.

1. I personally think we're one CB injury away from having no real CBs(stay healthy Al!)
2. LB will work itself out. odds are we will get Hawk in the draft, and Ben Taylor is on the team, and will compete with some vets supposedly.

We need interior offensive line help and we need to draft a playmaker on defense. The linebackers we have right now excluding Barnett aren't playmakers. If we get Hawk, Dqwell, Cromartie, etc. it would help our defense a great deal.

In no particular order

An expolsive PR/KR. Field position is vital

A cold weather kicker to challenge Cundiff. Field position is still vital

Interior OL

Linebacker

Another CB

The best medical / fitness team money can buy. Lets hope the team stays healthy this year

Our biggest need is the interior OL, but it's also a place we won't find help in through the draft IMO. It's very rare to find gems like Clifton and Tauscher who are ready to start as rookies. Witt wasn't ready last year, but forced into it and struggled big time. If we end up with the best player available being an OG or center, then grab him. Otherwise look to June 1st cuts.

Forget about drafting for need or targeting players. Sherman did this all the time and he winded up wasting picks left and right. I think the best moves TT made last year were in the draft and he needs to take that same approach. There isn't any position on this roster that cannot be improved. So pick the best players. Then use the June 1st cuts to fill holes with FAs, which we have plenty of money to do so.

Let's rephrase the question a bit. What areas need upgrades?

1) Left Guard
2) WR a. starter + b. depth (Walker and Murphy replacements)
3) CB or someone better than Carroll
4) Starting LB; depth okay.
5) PK
6) TE depth or upgrade over Martin
7) Kick returner
8) DT depth or upgrade over Washington
9) OT depth or upgrades over Klemm and Barry
10) upgrade over Leach as back up FB
11) #3 QB

Let's leave it at the top 12 for now(See 2a and 2b).
If over half of these are met in the draft great. There are a lot of guys on one year contracts and money to extend those worthwhile. I expect 2 of these to be met in the final roster cutdown week.

Ted will have to trade down early to get quality.

I agree with you porky but

We also kinda need a QB and C a little

and I dont think we need DL to bad KGB,PICKETT,COLE,KAMPMAN
but could use a little help

with the draft I think the saints really hold what we could end up with

The Saints possible could pick

D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia - There line could use some help
Mario Williams, DE, North Carolina State - after sending DE Darren Howard to Phili may need a new starter
A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio State - A weak LB core in my eyes

or possible trading down for may picks
