What does this even mean?

this is from packerreport.com I believe(i get my sources confused but like to give credit where credits due, damnit!) :

-- Cornerback Ahmad Carroll continues to be very animated and an overall chatterbox. He was much quieter on the field during his first two seasons, but this year he is very vocal and, overall, keeping himself and teammates loose.

what does this mean, keeping his teammates loose? He is keeping his jaw loose.

Also, if this person thinks Carroll has been 'quiet' the last two seasons, and is NOW loud....then...man....I cant even imagine...

with that said, I hope he does well, and helps the defense(and team win), but...I see this as a bad thing(shocker, huh?).

Well I'm sure it means keeping spirits up.........well I hope thats what it mean

and I hope he can step and and be good on defense.
