Being a member of the Blues Society of Central Pennsylvania, I might have heard of some of them. ;)

Even if you aren't an American Idol Fan, at least YouTube this guy, he is pretty special! Singer, songwriter, street musician who washes dishes for a living. I think "washed" would be more appropriate....his career is about to take off!

I think he will be top male left.

    But

I think if she performs like that again she is hard to beat

Agreed. Nice choice! Ashley was my favorite artist coming out of auditions. They really did a crappy job giving her any airtime until last night and even that was minimal. However, I
think they gave her great advice, she needs to get back behind the piano.

Some really good talent in this season. Did you see Uche? He might not fit into everybody's box of the kind of music they enjoy, but this guy has amazing stage presence.

Best stage presence, but I don't like his sound.. That's just me.

Not a musician that I would pay to listen to either, but probably a fun show to see.

I am a big Idol and The Voice fan, but when it comes to the Audience vote, you just never know how its going to go and the best artist (IMO), doesn't always win. The good news, if they get enough exposure, they typically go on to have a decent career in music. Will never forget Season 5, when Chris Daughtry was eliminated at #4. The guy who won that season, Taylor Hicks was entertaining, but at best, just a good Wedding singer.

I ran into Danny goeke at Xmas time the year he was on.. Ran into him at a target by my house as he lived near me.

Was a blizzard so no one was really there. Forgot my phone in my car so no pics.. But was a 5 min convo, so easy to talk to.. My wife hid as she was wearing a Packer sweater and purple sweat pants lol.

LOL on your wife hiding......Gokey might be a Packer fan, I think he is from Milwaukee? I remember him well and liked him. His wife passed away like a month before auditions. He ran up against Adam Lambert and Chris Allen. Lambert should have won it, but has done really well since.

We may need to start an "American Idol" thread. Shaggy loves diversity!

EDIT: Was curious how former AI contestants were doing.

    https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth/celebrities/most-successful-american-idol-contestants/

Gokey landed right on the first slide at #34....of course "success" doesn't always equal musical talent...given #33, William Hung.

I always enjoy music that either tells a really good story or delivers a great message. I remember the first time I heard this song while driving, totally locked into the lyrics.

Kind of a gloomy, overcast, rainy morning, Sick of hearing about what a jerk Aaron is from former players, coaches and analysts. Mellowing out on some blues.

Came across a group called The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band.

Some good mood improving songs. Listening to 'Poor until Payday' now.

I'm taking a break ATM from creating a playlist for a wake. Gospel era Elvis, 50's & 60's country, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Roger Miller, early Willie and Waylon, Johnny Cash.

Thank you. Never realize what a small world until you find out your cousin is married to the new guy in the plant. Or your neighbor's daughter cares for your elderly uncle at the home.

I think on that side of the lake, everyone is related to someone in one way shape or form. Swear to god, you're right on.

It really starts getting interesting when you find out you're talking to a great niece or nephew and you don't even know it.

I love 40's, 50's and 60's country music. My family was embarrassed when we went to Burger King and I had Eddy Arnold's "Cattle Call" playing! My wife complained and my daughter agreed! The truck driving era of the 70's kind of drove me away. Worst country song ever in my opinion: Kathy Mattea - Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses

Fortunately I'm beyond hitting on them. Nice to look at but too much trouble to chase.
