I definitely prefer the Cash version, but as covers go, that one of my favourites. I`m a bit of a purist with music, some should be left alone. Mariah Carrey`s version of Nilssons "without you" should have been punished by death...lol

Agreed, if you are going to cover a classic then you better get it right and most don't.

Madonna did a butchery job on American Pie that was unbelievably wrong.

Notice if this song ever plays in a bar, almost everyone is lip synching to it?

Although I prefer Don Mclean's version of it, Madonna could be pulling my teeth and scratching her nails across a blackboard and I would still enjoy anything she was doing. :coffee:

If you have never seen her perform live, she is amazing.

But back to P!nk for a moment :coffee: Listen/read the lyrics to this song....she actually delivers some great messages within a lot of her songs....and this is nothing short of brilliant.

I`m not sure if she is still unpopular in the U.S. as she was, but I do like this version of an Eddie Vedder ukulele song.

THAT is why she looked/sounded familiar! Kept thinking she looked a bit like P!ink's sister.

I'm not really into Pink's type of music, although my teenage daughter is. I'm more into music that doesn't need a sexy video to sell you on the fact that the performer is an excellent artist. This is more my speed; (btw - he really gets going around the 4 minute mark)

Clapton is classic for sure. I love music for all sorts of reasons, I can get lost in the audible pleasure of it and/or get captured by a great story it is telling. Which is probably why I don't enjoy much Rap, since most Rap I have heard lacks both.

Music videos definitely changed the landscape of mainstream music for some, not only did an artist have to sound good, they had to capture their audience visually. I don't watch a lot of videos per se, but if I love a song audibly, its often fun to try and find it on YouTube to see the artists visual depiction of the song.

This song captured me when Martina released it for the sound and the story. Layer the video on top of it and its awesome.
