But coming out of the preseason we weren't injured and we were still playing bad. Why? Because this team is a badly prepared team. Sherm took a couple of very talented teams in the past to the playoffs but were iliminated early. His one shot was the game against Philly and we all remember 4th and 26. The argument can be made that Sherman won before. But the truth is also clear that he had some pretty special talent left over from Wolf's tenure and couldn't get it done</p><p></p><p>He has kept his buddies on the coaching staff when they weren't producing. He gave a lot of money to players who weren't big money players. The team is strapped financially because of blunderous moves as a GM. And it appears that even though this team hasn't quit, which is a good sign for Sherman, it also appears that he's not the guy to take this team back to the top. Remember, he couldn't win it all when he had the horses. At best he is a mediocre coach of a bad team. He can't motivate, he doesn't adjust quickly enough to the game on the field, and he has fairly poor coaching staff. I was wrong on that one too, because at the beginning of the season I thought he finally had made some moves in the right direction. </p><p></p><p>My view is that at the end of the season you make a coaching change and start over. There are a few good young coaches in the college ranks that look like up and comers. The coach at Iowa is in that category. Let the rebuilding project begin. And here is a final message for TT, stop taking shots at the great player in the draft and instead draft guys who can play and remember, you cannot afford to miss in the first round. You have a chance to pick an impact type player and this is the way to start rebuilding. I don't care what side of the ball you start with in this draft, just find an impact player, a guy who can turn the game around for you at any time of the game.</p></blockquote><p></p>
