The gunman in that New York City shooting was targeting the NFL offices, but took the wrong elevator. He suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and for some reason blamed the NFL - even though he never played beyond high school.
Edit: I guess you could say his elevator didn't go all the way up.
