    As Christmas Day finally comes, bringing joy and fellowship to those all around us, let us be kind to those whose teams aren’t as generous as some others. Mocking, taunting and generally making their lives miserable isn’t going to look good in Santa’s notes !!

    Merry Christmas to all of you and thank you for your support over this year. I hope the holidays will be filled with the laughter of those closest to you.

    IN SEPTEMBER WHEN THIS SEASON STARTED
    CIRCLES WERE DRAWN AROUND THIS GAME
    IT FIGURED TO BE A SIGNIFICANT ONE
    AND IT IS THOUGH THE REASON'S NOT THE SAME

    WITH BOTH TEAMS TIED AT SIX AND EIGHT
    AND AMAZINGLY ALIVE IN THE PLAYOFF CHASE
    THE WINNER CAN KEEP FAINT HOPE IN HAND
    WHILE THE LOSER WILL BE KNOCKED FROM THE RACE
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    AFTER LOSING FOUR GAMES IN A ROW
    THE VIKES HAD WON TWO OF THE LAST THREE
    AND FACING THE JETS IN THE METRODOME
    LOOKED AS BIG A GIFT AS THERE COULD BE
    GETTING THEMSELVES READY FOR A PLAYOFF RUN
    THE VIKES PLANNED TO HANDILY WIN THIS GAME
    TOO BAD FOR THEM THAT NEW YORK'S JETS
    WERE FEELING PRETTY MUCH THE SAME
    THOSE NEW YORK JETS FOLLOWED THE BLUEPRINT
    DRAWN UP BY THE PATS SOME WEEKS AGO
    "DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME TRYING TO RUN-
    USE SHORT PASSES AND DOWN THE FIELD YOU'LL GO"
    SO LIKE FIGHTER PLANES THE JETS CAME IN
    AND SHOT THE VIKES' DEFENSE FULL OF HOLES
    AS CHAD PENNINGTON HAD HIMSELF A CAREER GAME
    WITH SMOOT BEING OWNED BY LAVERNANUES COLES
    CHET TAYLOR COULDN'T GET HIS GAME GOING
    WHILE THE JETS MANAGED RUN WELL ENOUGH
    FOR ONCE IT WASN'T THE VIKINGS' DEFENSE
    GETTING KUDOS FOR EVERY RUN THEY STUFFED
    BRAD JOHNSON WAS FORCED TO WIN THE GAME
    AND WE KNOW HOW WELL THAT PLAN WOULD WORK OUT
    AS COACH CHILDRESS GAVE IN TO THE CROWD
    AND ROLLED TARVARIUS JACKSON OUT
    THE ROOKIE DID MANAGE TO MOVE THE BALL
    AND EVEN THREW A PASS THAT TURNED INTO A SCORE
    ALTHOUGH HE ALSO TOSSED AN INTERCEPTION
    THIS WEEK HE'LL START- CLOSING BRAD JOHNSON’S DOOR
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    THE PACKERS WERE COMING OFF A BIG WIN FOR THEM
    AS THEY HAD SENT THE FORTY-NINERS TO DEFEAT
    AND SINCE IT SEEMED THEY'D JUST PLAY OUT THE SEASON
    ANY CHANCE TO WIN WAS LOOKING PRETTY SWEET

    THEN THE LIONS CAME TO VISIT LAMBEAU
    ON A CLEAR AND COLD MID-DECEMBER DAY
    PROVIDING THE CHANCE FOR PACKERS' FANS
    TO SEE SOME CLASSIC COLD-WEATHER PLAY

    WINNING AT HOME HASN'T BEEN THE PACKERS' FORTE
    AS THEY'D LOST ALL BUT ONE GAME AT LAMBEAU FIELD
    EVERY SINGLE VISITOR BUT ARIZONA’S CARDINALS
    HAD FORCED THE GREEN BAY TEAM TO YIELD

    THANK GOODNESS FOR THOSE DETROIT LIONS
    AND FOR THE FACT THAT THEY AREN'T VERY GOOD
    FOR AS THEY MISSED OUT ON A CHANCE TO BEAT THE PACK
    IF THEY TAKEN ADVANTAGE LIKE THEY SHOULD

    BRETT DIDN'T HAVE ONE OF HIS BEST GAMES
    THOUGH HE SAW ANOTHER DAN MARINO RECORD FALL
    WITHOUT BLOCKING AND WITH NO OPEN RECEIVERS
    THRICE HE THREW THE DETROIT TEAM THE BALL

    FOR ONCE THE PACKERS' DEFENSIVE TEAM
    STEPPED UP AND WERE THE HEROES OF THE DAY
    CRUSHING THE LIFE FROM THE LIONS' OFFENSE
    AND WINNING THEIR BATTLES ALMOST EVERY PLAY

    WITH THE DEFENSES PLAYING EXTREMELY HARD
    NEITHER TEAM COULD GET THE PASSING GAME ON TRACK
    IT WAS TWO SCORES THAT TURNED THE GAME
    WHEN SCORED BY GREEN BAY'S BACKUP RUNNING BACK

    THEN THE STARS STARTED FALLING TOGETHER
    WITH COMBOS OF OTHER TEAMS' LOSSES AND WINS
    SOMEHOW SOMEWAY THE PLAYOFF CANDLE IS STILL LIT
    AND THAT TALK IS STARTING ONCE AGAIN
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    THIS WEEK THESE TEAMS MEET FOR THE SECOND TIME
    WITH NOT MUCH MORE THAN BRAGGING RIGHTS AT STAKE
    BUT TO THINK THAT WILL AFFECT THE GAMES' INTENSITY
    WOULD BE NOTHING LESS THAN A TRAGIC MISTAKE
    AMAZINGLY THESE TEAMS ARE VERY SIMILAR
    WITH NEITHER TEAM BEING ABLE TO DEFENSE A PASS
    UNLESS THE PASS RUSH GET TO THE QUARTERBACK
    KNOCKING HIM FLAT ON THE GRASS
    TOO BAD FOR BRAD CHILDRESS' TEAM
    THAT THEIR PASS RUSH SEEMS TO HAVE GONE ASTRAY
    WHILE THERE IS QUITE A RESURGENCE
    OF THE DEFENSIVE LINE IN GREEN BAY
    BOTH TEAMS HAVE GOOD RUN DEFENSES
    AND THEIR BACKS ARE BETTER THAN MOST
    AND IF EITHER TEAM LETS RECEIVERS RUN FREE
    THE PASS DEFENSE WILL BE TOAST
    BRETT FAVRE WILL FACE A SECOND-ROUND ROOKIE
    IN THE MATCHUP THAT WILL BE THE KEY TO THE GAME
    TARVARIOUS JACKSON IS THE TWO HUNDRED FIRST OTHER Q-B
    TO START WHILE GREEN BAY'S HAS BEEN THE SAME
    IN THIS WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS DAY
    GOOD WISHES AND GENEROSITY WILL ABOUND
    BUT IT WILL START FRIDAY AT LAMBEAU FIELD
    AFTER THE VIKINGS WILL HAVE BEEN BEAT DOWN....
    Green Bay beat the Detroit Lions 17-9
    Minnesota lost to the New York Jets 23-10
    Merry Christmas to all-
    And to all a good night !
