I would still have the Packers at 6 because:
1. The only loss the Texans have are to the Packers
2. The only loss the Bears have are to the Packers
BOTH higher than us on the list
3. We have not lost a game by more than 8 in 50 regular season games. (1 possession)
4. We have 6 or 7 starters that are not playing and multiple starters with nagging injuries (Saturday, Finley, Raji, etc)

My current playoff forecast:

NFC North
Chicago 12-4
Green Bay 11-5

NFC East
NY Giants 11-5
Dallas 9-7

NFC South
Atlanta 13-3

NFC West
San Francisco 12-4
Seattle 9-7

Dallas or Seattle will get the final wildcard spot. But Washington, Philly, Minny, Detroit might make a push for it.
We, as the #5 seed, will play at the #4 seed, which is the division winner with the worst record. In this case, it's at NYG.
Would you like that, to play wildcard game at the Giants?

Power rankings are ridiculous. A few weeks ago, most experts had Arizona near the top. And, currently, most have the undefeated Falcons at the top. Not a lot of thought goes into these things, apparently.

Let's take a look at who the Falcons have played thus far:

1. Chiefs.
2. Broncos. This was also a home game. 27-21
3. Chargers.
4. Panthers.
5. Redskins.
6. Raiders. Barely eeked out a win at home 23-20
7. Eagles. In Philly. Tough to play there- even with an imploding Eagles team. This is the only win that I respect.

Going forward, they have a fairly easy schedule. According to the "Power ranking" above, they only play two teams in the top 15 ALL SEASON LONG. And one was Denver in week #2. The other will be NYG, which they will likely lose.

Atlanta may finish 15-1 or 14-2 this season. But, will any other playoff team be afraid of them? The answer is no. In fact, I think the #6 seed is a preferred spot this year...

Hey, Falcon's front office... Don't order that trophy case just yet!

These things are like political polls...a snap shot in time with a very short half life. It is not something anybody should take seriously. It's filler for the 7 day news cycle.

Exactly.
Just like the whole forum is.
I find there to be many interesting perspectives, facts and figures posted on this forum that sharpen insight into and understanding of the game. A power poll provides nothing of use...it is a collection of bald opinions with, at best, twitter-depth justifications.

I would suggest that almost everything in the forum is a collection of bald, somtimes bold, opinions. Actually I don't know what bald means in terms of writing? But not everything is bold. lol

I think Pitsburgh is playing better than the Packers right now so I'd drop the Pack a notch not that any rankings matter much right now.

In this context, "bald" suggests lacking in detail, bare, unadorned by any justification. See, you just learned something on this forum. ;)

Atlanta will come crashing down. I predict at least one loss to Tampa, a loss to the Saints, the Giants, and the Cowboys.
