The Packers finally turned a page in its rich history over the weekend in Philadelphia, ending a string of nine consecutive losses in the city of brotherly love dating back to 1962, with a 27-20 victory in large part to the defensive effort of Clay Matthews, who racked up seven tackles and two sacks while breaking up two more passes. Matthews had missed the entire preseason because of a hamstring, but with a week of practice under his belt he looked on Sunday as though he had shaken off all the rust. On the other side of the ball, Aaron Rodgers and company looked as though they were already in mid-season form at times, with Rodgers finding both Jennings and Driver on scores of 32 and 6 yards respectively. Yet Rodgers was also picked off twice on what looked like route confusion by the receiving core, which is something that should come together as the season progresses. Rodgers finished the game 19/31 for 188 yards. On the ground though, the Packers suffered a major setback, Ryan Grant went down early in the game and spent the rest of the game on the sidelines in a walking boot. The Packers recently said the Grant's ankle injury will sideline him for the rest of the season, handing over the reigns to Brandon Jackson, the fourth year man out of Nebraska. Jackson has been utilized mainly as a third down back out of McCarthy's scheme the last few years, but will now will be the feature back, with fullback John Kuhn also getting time at halfback. Not everything was clicking for Green Bay though, after knocking Kevin Kolb out of his first regular season start as the number one quarterback in Philadelphia Michael Vick took over and reminded Packers fans of the 2003 Wild Card match up in which Michael Vick ran circles around a hapless Packers defense when he was the Falcons. Vick looked confident in the pocket going 16/24 for 175 yards and a 17 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, but it was his feet that really put the Packers defense on its heels, as he scorched Dom Capers 3-4 scheme for 103 yards on just 11 carries. Next week the Packers will open up things at Lambeau against the Buffalo Bills who come into the game 0-1 losing a defensive battle to the Miame Dolphins. For more on this match up check in later in the week. Source: Green Bay Packers Insider
