    Injury report

    Updating a previous note, Packers quarterback Brett Favre was limited in practice because of a small cut on one of the fingers on his throwing hand. "He went through the team (portions of practice)," coach Mike McCarthy said. "I just gave Aaron (Rodgers) some of his reps today. He's going to be fine. He's played with a lot worse." Favre suffered the injury at home Monday night, McCarthy said. Meanwhile, coaches are working Vernand Morency into the rotation in practice, and McCarthy said the long-sidelined running back looked "very good" during portions of today's workout. Morency hasn't played since straining the patella tendon in his right knee on the first day of training camp July 28. Receiver Greg Jennings was limited in practice today because his problematic hamstring was "a little sore," according to McCarthy. "He's fine. He feels great," McCarthy said. "The guy who's holding him back is myself." Tight end Bubba Franks (knee) and tackle Chad Clifton (knee) are dealing with old injuries but are expected to play. Clifton probably won't practice much on Wednesdays in the future, McCarthy said.

    The Packers will release their first injury for the week shortly. Here's what it will be:

    Limited participation

    LB Desmond Bishop (shoulder)
    T Chad Clifton (knee)
    WR Donald Driver (toe)
    QB Brett Favre (right finger)
    DL Cullen Jenkins (ribs)
    RB Vernand Morency (knee)
    DL Corey Williams (knee)
    CB Charles Woodson (foot)
    WR Greg Jennings (hamstring)

    Did not participate

    TE Bubba Franks (knee)
    CB Al Harris (back)

    DE Michael Montgomery (knee)

    Vikings week: Wednesday practice report

    Here's what we saw during the portion of practice open to the media on Wednesday inside the Don Hutson Center:

    Starters Charles Woodson (hip), Al Harris (back spasms), Cullen Jenkins and Chad Clifton (ankle) were not on the field. They were likely getting treatment, but we'll let you know what we hear. TE Bubba Franks (right leg) was on the field but not in pads;

    RB Vernand Morency was on the field in pads and participating fully. This is the third-straight Wednesday he has done this, although he looked much better and had a spring in his step today;

    WR Greg Jennings appears to be over his hamstring injury. He was practicing and looking very quick;

    Orrin Thompson took Clifton's place at LT. Jarrett Bush and Will Blackmon replaced Harris and Woodson;

    Chris Francies was practicing, so he's been signed back to the practice squad;

    Aaron Rodgers took most of the snaps in practice while we were there. They could very well be resting the arm of Brett Favre, who has 125 attempts in the first three games;

    RB Brandon Jackson was doing a lot of work on catching the ball. Drops have been a problem for him;

    S Aaron Rouse seems nearly at full strength;

    Newly-signed Shaun Bodiford was practicing with his former teammates;

    Thank you. I hope the decision to give Morency plenty of time to heal pays off, as apparently it has for Jennings. Also, I would like to see Aaron Rouse suit up on game days and play special teams.
