Injury List for Packers

More than a dozen Packers will open this week on the injury report. Only guard Tony Palmer, who suffered a neck injury this past week against the Giants, was absent from this morning's practice. End Michael Montgomery made his first appearance since tearing the MCL in his right knee in the second preseason game, and running back Vernand Morency (knee) appeared to be fully participating. But a wave of players, including many starters, left the field just before or after stretching, almost certainly to get treatment. They included: defensive linemen Montgomery, Cullen Jenkins, Corey Williams and Johnny Jolly; cornerbacks Al Harris and Charles Woodson; offensive linemen Chad Clifton and Jason Spitz; receiver Greg Jennings; tight end Bubba Franks; and safety Aaron Rouse.

Clifton (ankle), injured Sunday, was expected to miss time early this week. Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday a number of other players were nursing minor injuries. The entire group should appear on the injury report when it's released this afternoon.

* Morency appeared to be running fine while participating in the team portions of practice reporters were allowed to watch. Whether he becomes sore, of course, is the real test of his strained right knee.

* In Woodson's absense, safety Nick Collins backed up Tramon Williams on punt returns.

Man, Woodson & Harris weren't leaving to get treatment..... They went back towards the training room, then ducked under the bleachers to drink some beers & smoke the cigarrettes they stole from Al's mom's purse.

Those guys are cool. To cool for school.

Is Jennings looking any better? I sure hope he can play soon. We have ben lucky to get by without needing him so far.

...As for running back Vernand Morency, who is nursing the knee injury he sustained the first day of training camp, it was the same old scenario. He practiced on Wednesday — just as he had the previous two Wednesdays — and will see if the soreness in his knee returns today like it has the previous two weeks. "(Today's) medical review will be a factor as to whether he goes this week," McCarthy said....

Chargers week: Wednesday injury report

Packers coach Mike McCarthy had 15 players miss all or part of Wednesday's practice, and that led the team to go through drills without pads on:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

CB Al Harris (back)
WR Greg Jennings (hamstring)
DT Corey Williams (ankle)
CB Charles Woodson (hip)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
T Chad Clifton (left ankle)
DE Cullen Jenkins (wrist)
DT Johnny Jolly (heel)
DE Aaron Kampman (rib)
T Tony Moll (neck)
RB Vernand Morency (knee)
S Aaron Rouse (hamstring)
G Jason Spitz (calf)

Just like last week, how Morency feels on Thursday will determine his status. And Jennings will go hard Thursday and be evaluated on Friday

THURSDAY UPDATE: THEY ARE BEING CAREFUL. FRIDAY PREGAME JENNINGS AND MORENCY STATUSES REPORT.

That's odd. This news bit popped up on my fantasy web site yesterday, it contradicts the "go hard" on Thursday plan, in fact it indicates Jennings won't play at all until Friday. Of course they might have it wrong.. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Pete Dougherty, f the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday, Sept. 19. He will return to practice Friday, Sept. 21, and his status for Week 3 will be determined then.
