Saw about the tsunami and earthquake in Japan early this morning. Hopefully Packers/NFL fans there are OK. Thoughts also go out to people who lost lives there. It is a pretty terrible tragedy.

Which has what to do with the Packers?

Oh, you mean the couple few Packers fans on the coast of Japan? How about all the others?

I have family in Tokyo, and have heard from them. They are all fine except a few books out of book cases, and pictures off of wall.

Majority of damage is aprox. 250 miles NE of Tokyo.

My prayers and condolences go to Japan. Never been there, nor do I have relatives or friends there, but I've heard it's a lively city.

My thoughts and prayers to all those in Japan. It kills me to watch the news, feeling so overwhelmed and damned helpless.

    Wicked.
I love Japan..... Besides Australia, they're my favorite friend out there.

I fear that the death toll will skyrocket waay up there as it did in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the Haiti earthquake.

    Your probably right.

I saw a news blurb about a train being derailed and another one missing. WTF!?
And now there has been a nuclear power plant thing. If there is radiation it could be Hiroshima again, only this time without a bomb but with the after effects.

I just heard that an entire cruise ship is MISSING. Not confirmed, hopefully it's only a rumor. Kind of puts the magnitute of our problems into perspective doesn't it? A sad day, indeed.

actually, couldn't find anywhere that info. Don't know where I heard it, so I'm not gonna post it if I can't confirm it.

    Nonetheless,
This really sucks, I can't express myself any better than that. It just sucks.

I've got a cousin and his family stationed in Japan. They're safe, but they've got no power, water, or cell service. There were a lot of aftershocks and his two little girls are terrified. But at least they are okay.

Now it appears that there has been a hydrogen explosion at one of the nuclear plants. This nightmare could only just be beginning over there.

Now on a lighter note, this American dude is okay, not killed or even injured. But he was scared. But not too scared because he still had the wherewithal to take out his camera and start recording his apartment while the shaking was going on in there. Knowing he's okay, I thought it was kind of funny to hear his cursing (obviously the whole scene and situation there is the opposite of funny and it's going to get more and more heartbreaking as it unfolds).
A shame he lost the flatscreen tv though. But he's physically okay and that's by far the most important thing.

Warning: some F-bombs ahead, don't let your 3rd graders next to you:

This is a before and after image from above thing..... it's unreal.

Each set of 2 has the thing in the middle of the before-left and after-right, you can slide it to see what it was like, and now is like.

    So sad, absolutely unreal.
Some of them, you can see many nice neighborhoods... and you can see some nice areas where their homes were like 20, 30 blocks inland with tons of homes, trees, stream, etc. in between them and the coast... you would think they'd be safe that far away. Nope, totally wiped out.

Putting myself in Japan right now? My thoughts are, "Where do you begin?" The destruction is incomprehensible. The loss of human life is unfathomable. God help those poor people.

This is a new video I just saw.
NetGeo just did a great one-hour long footage of that nightmare. It's unreal. It's over 2 months ago and I hear nothing now, no donations setup all over like we saw for Haiti, which was nowhere near this magnitude.
Plus the Japanese are good people, whereas half the Haitians are VooDoo demons. But forget them, why have we not raised money to help Japan from a 100x worse disaster?
