Nov 4, 2012; Green Bay, WI, USA; Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb (18) celebrates a touchdown with fans during the game against the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field. Credit: Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE By Travis Duncan Packer Forum writer What kind of steal was Randall Cobb when the Packers drafted him in the second-round of the NFL Draft? 63 other players were selected in 2011 before the Kentucky product was nabbed by Green Bay. It would be difficult to argue that anyone from that class is having as much or more of an impact than Cobb is for the Packers-especially in his second season-and especially recently with the injuries to Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson. For example Jonathan Baldwin was selected 26th overall in the draft. As a wideout for Kansas City Baldwin has caught 15 passes in eight games this season. Football in the 21st century is all about being "multiple" as coach Mike McCarthy often says-and that's what Cobb provides the Packers-a running back, a receiver , a slot receiver and a return man. Cobb caught three passes for 37 yards, two of which were touchdowns in the 31-17 win over Arizona Sunday. On the ground he ran for 29 yards on three carries. He also returned two punts. In total, Cobb provided the Pack with 208 yards Sunday afternoon. In the past three games Cobb has five touchdowns total. Jordy Nelson, returning after missing last week's game with a hamstring injury, left the game early with an ankle injury. James Jones continued his career-year with a 4-catch 61 yard performance and his eighth touchdown of the season. On the ground the Packers continue to show they won't get caught with an unbalanced scheme again. Confidence was gained for James Starks who has been regulated to a backup role in recent times. Starks gained 61 yards on 17 carries. Alex Green carried the ball 11 times for 53 yards. Linebacker Clay Matthews was lost due to a hamstring injury. According the Green Bay Press Gazette, it's the same injury that has caused problems for Mathews since his rookie season. McCarthy did not know the extent of the injury after the game. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga left the game with a hip injury which meant the Packers had to play musical chairs as Evan Dietrich-Smith came into the game at left guard and T.J. Lang shifted over to right tackle. McCarthy indicated it was not known at this point how serious the injuries to either Nelson or Bulaga are. Through the multitude of injuries the Packers continue to keep their swagger having won four straight. 6-3 with the injury bug, against quality opponents, is nothing to be ashamed at; even with the lofty expectations this franchise rightfully keeps. However it only gets harder from this point. After a bye week the Packers face the Lions, Giants, Vikings, Lions again and the Bears in a five-week stretch. Time to get healthy, they hope.
