I’m guessing it’s up to $2.5M including performance bonuses in case injuries increase his reps. Still, half-a-million probably cements his spot on the roster. I was hoping DD would accept nearer the vet minimum.  When asked about keeping 6 WRs, McCarthy said, “Our roster will be challenged as far as six receivers. That’s something you get into in training camp… Special teams will play a big part in which positions are heavier than others.” IMO that’s why TEs have been “over-weighted” on the roster recently: Their combination of size and speed come in handy on STs units. It could be the Packers will keep 6 WRs and one fewer TE, but I’m pretty sure that’s not how Thompson and McCarthy think about it. (If Quarless starts out on the PUP list, that may play a part in the number of TEs on the "final" 53.) It’s all about individual players at all positions and when you get to the end of the roster, STs contributions are an important factor incorporated into the decision. It’s obviously a balancing act if they have a player near the bottom of the 53 who isn’t particularly good on STs but has a big upside. Of course I hope the Packers don’t say goodbye to such a player because they kept DD. </blockquote>
