Technology has brought many wonderful inventions over the years notably the telephone on March 10, 1876. No longer did our ancestors have to sledge through hundreds of miles of unpaved roads and spend countless hours and days just to communicate with their relatives.

Fast forward to 2013 where social networks drive daily communications for a good share of Americans 40 and under and at increasing levels on those older.

Facebook having the largest user base of the social networks had it origins in late 2004 and was originally designed as a social network for college students.

Facebook exhibited great promise but alas to become profitable had to monetize their user's for profit. Which brings us to today where facebook just recently removed yet another privacy option for their users.

    Facebook removes another privacy option
Necessary Internet Safety/Privacy not being taught

No matter the frequency of ones social network usage or whether you have an account in the first place shouldn't change the fact at how wrong the trend (lack of available privacy) is becoming

Instagram? Candy Crush? Sponsored Stories? 500th friend? Nope... Nope.... Nope...and Nope!!!

A Sunday drive with some treasured close by friends and later on a long anticipated call to a cousin in South Dakota.

The best social network is the phone book. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc = data mining made easy.
