Shake things up. Let Rodgers get healthy if he isn't already. Cool things down. The season is over anyways. What is there to lose? If anything Kizer gets some experience and maybe increases his value. We can see McCarthy's system without aaron rodgers. Even if we lose, our season is already over, might as well get a better draft pick.

Idk maybe it's a bad idea but it's worth considering. Even though it won't happen.

I agree that it's a pretty weird thought. I am just curious to see how McCarthy's system looks with a different quarterback since we are definitely going to see rodgers with a different head coach

If the Packers are mathematically eliminated (hate the use that term) sit Arod and play people to evaluate if it’s worth another contract or staying on this team...should be easy.

No.

The bulk of the offense is going to be the same next year regardless so, even if the coaching staff and playbook is different, still good for them all to play together.

There is never a reason to sit your starting QB for any reason other than poor performance or injury or to save him for the post season. Period.

Two of these could be arguments for sitting Rodgers as opposed to being against the idea.

Risking really our biggest chance at a division title or a SB appearance in a possible losing season is worth risking Kizer morethan Rodgers....

The Packers have a 97% chance of being home for the playoffs and a 3% chance of a Unicorn showing up to coach and play for this team.....hell...give the Unicorn a chance!

Rodgers is making a ton of cash. He needs to spend the rest of the season proving he was worth it. It's too much money to pay for him to do nothing.

Nope. Terrible idea and you would seriously tick off all the other offensive players.

That's ridiculous. Rodgers has nothing to prove. McCarthy has proven that he is incapable of protecting his QB or calling a game. Keeping him in will only be bad for his health and for developing bad habits.

I'm all for sitting AR on 3rd downs... pretty sure Kizer wouldn't throw 40 yds downfield consistently trying to "catch the D by surprise" but might actually look for an underneath receiver or back to get the 1st down. Any wonder why AR's 3rd down percentage is so pathetic?

Letting another quarterback get behind center is going to happen over Aaron Rodgers' dead body.

Good luck convincing him to sit.

along the same lines, bench Davonte and Jones. don't want them blowing an ACL and being lost next season also. Then again, I really don't care to learn how JMon Moore and Jake Kumerow look with Kizer. I want to see them with AR12.
So no, this is not a good idea. We can still sell Kizer for picks based on potential. I'd really hate to see him Hundley'd* and traded for a 6th.

*to be Hundley'd: play in a regular season game with players that are mailing it in because they are not in playoff contention. Business decisions lead to lack of effort and overall poor product from many of the players that are not competing for a paycheck next season. This diminishes the players future value as the lack of team cohesion and effort appears to be poor play. See any 4th preseason game for video.

THAT is exactly why McCarthy will be getting fired next month. It's MM's job to COACH, not AR's. Pretty sure most of the bone-head 3rd down bombs are AR's decision, but McCarthy has done nothing to reign him in. Also pretty sure Aaron Jones' limited touches earlier this season are because AR has been given full-reign on checking-0ut of run plays to throw the ball.

Rodgers is the best QB in the league, but his decision making stalls A LOT of drives and MM allows it.
