There was no room for appreciable expansion, but I don't think Northwestern ever cared about filling the stands. They get their money out of media rights. It's hard to pinpoint their actual athletic budget because they're not a public school, therefore don't have to disclose their budgeting.They're in the Big 10 from the past, when they were a nice doormat for each team to kick around most years, and to make it look like the Big 10 is academics first, which is only true to a few schools.</blockquote>
