Its so interesting how this parallels a political debate.....Its like Reblicans vs. Democrats in here...LOL which I think is cool in how diversified so many peoples opinions are....We all act like we no for sure, when in actuallity we have all had opinions on someone or something that has turned out the opposite of expected....I could be wrong Moss could be a total waste and destroy the team, it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong in life....

I just think its awesome to have right-wing packers and left-wing packers....Of course im reffering to football politics...

Its like Pro-Moss is Anti-TT
and
Anti-Moss is Pro-TT

I agree. I would just hope that we could discuss things without personal attacks on each other. The other thread on Moss got SO heated, and insults were tossed back and forth. All the Packer fans on here should remember, we ALL are on the same side and only want whats best for the team. Both sides of the debate make good points. It could go either way on the Moss issue. Could turn out good OR bad.
But in the end, our opinions on here won't matter, as the Packers are going to do what they are going to do, reguardless of what chatters on Packerforum want.

I agree with Z2C. I'm pro-Moss and pro-TT. Why not?

I think TT is good for this team, and I think Moss would be, too, if for no other reason than to give Brett every chance to go out on top like he deserves.

Actually, Moss debate is an interesting one. Though the opinions vary, I think everyone can agree that he is not a long term answer.

AS for TT, he has set the table, and so far, has served the appetizers. The main course may be coming in this year or next.

Personally, I am hopeful.

im pro-green bay. therefore im pro-anything that helps GB

furthermore that means im pro-TT and pro- Moss if he helps this team.

TT has done everything in the best intrest of the team, and those who cant see that, are just cheering for Brett Favre... not the green bay packers.

people who say no to moss, arent giving GB a fair chance at greatness. all championship teams have great players and often times with great players you get great egos and great problems. its the way of the NFL. catch up

Many think the deadline is next year. Meaning we have to make the playoffs. I like what hes done. We got Jennings, Green, and whole bunch of good people. And like Zero said, he has Favre exited......

I'm also pro-TT and pro-Moss.

I just don't understand the hatred for Ted Thompson. I'd say he's done an above average job.

I don't quite understand it myself. Maybe that's my fault?

There are some things that Ted has done, and not done that I don't agree with, but ****, who am I to say what's right and wrong? I'm a fan, not a GM. I didn't like drafting Jennings over Jackson the minute it happened, look how that turned out.

I've pretty much learned to just let the man do his job and root like **** for my favorite team who he works for.

I don't agree with the terms "Pro-TT" / "Anti-TT"....

I support the Packers, and therefore I support TT to succeed. I don't think that makes me pro TT because I believe there are some major stats that strike me as down right terrible....

I do like TT's approach on some things (ie. draft) and I think he has a lot to learn on other things (see: Bates, Jim).

Based on what I have seen, I do think TT has potential to be a great GM. I think we are already seeing some of that potential translate into practical success (all 3 o-linemen drafted started and held their own.... and displayed so much potential). I do agree with his philosophy of getting more picks to increase the success rate in the later rounds.

However, the record is what matters and the record under Ted against playoff bound teams is terrible....

Regardless, I will say either way it is too early (IMO) to say TT has been an utter failure or complete success this early. On a team like the Packers where a rebuilding project is occurring, every mistake made is crucial and gets magnified. On a successful team, the mistakes made by the front office don't seem as bad. It is all relative.

Do you think the Pats haven't made mistakes? IIRC they cut Monty Bisel after signing him to a long-term contract two years ago and decided to bring in Seau. Think the Pats don't regret taking Jackson over Jennings? However, being the great team that they are, those mistakes don't seem as bad as they would if the Packers had made them.

Beleive it or not...I am a PRO packers fan as well.

I want to see what's good for the packers LONG TERM
And as stated earlier, Moss is not a good long term solution.

To just put expensive older pieces in place w/baggage to
help Favre win in the playoffs isn't a good long term solution.

Favre returned because he likes to see this "young team succeed"
If we bring in high priced veterans who wore out their welcomes
in other places and are media circuses unto themselves,
I can't see that as being successful for the PACKERS.

I don't think it's pro-moss anti-moss either.
I think it's pro long term packers..or pro win now packers.
Those seems to be the sides of contention.

It's hard to say TT is doing a good job when the Packers are 12-20 straight up, 2-12 vs playoff teams and 6-10 @ Lambeau under his watch.

If that is above average you're standards are low.

I'm a Packers fan first and foremost. I have supported all Packers personnel and hires throughout the years. That said, as a community based team, we, as fans, have the right to criticize more than any other fans. When it gets personal, such as appearance, etc. it is disgusting and I am ashamed to be in the same fan base.

I wish TT well and, despite his first year, believe he has done a very good job. I'd give him an incomplete, however, until next year and perhaps the year after.

He has the pedigree and he is hitting more than he is missing right now. Someone once said that, if a man is right more than he is wrong (or something like that), he will be wealthy. I believe that is true. Hopefully, the Packers will prove it too.

The guy hasn't been on the job long enough to make a final decision on how good he is. He had to start with what was there when he took over as GM. He's had 2 drafts to try to build the team back to respectability.
You seem to have the attitude that he should have been able to make the Packers Super Bowl champs by now. I don't think ANY GM in the NFL could have done better with what he had to start with.
It's like handing the guy the keys to a 1986 Ford Escort, and saying "I expect you to win the Indy 500 with this car next year!"
Geez......give the guy a chance already.
I really don't understand some of the hate for TT........is it you don't like the way he looks or dresses? Or that he doesn't give witty answers to the media? It took Ron Wolf several years to make the Packers champions. It takes time to put a decent team together. He hasn't had enough time yet. If the Packers fall flat this next year, and don't improve on their 8-8 record, then i could understand getting anxious. But they went from 4-12 (which you CAN'T blame on Ted, that was what was there when he GOT here) to 8-8. Thats a pretty good jump and above average in my view. Just my opinion of course.

Yea, rebuilding takes time chief. I'm willing to admit we were rebuilding in 2005. Sherman left us in cap hell with old veterans. We needed to start over.

IF you twist facts as such sure.

Did the Packers not improve last year? Did they not double their wins?

At this rate, the Packers will win 16 games next year?

Will THAT be good enough for you?

it basically just comes down to rational fans. and irrational fans.

irrational fans will never be happy, its a very deep-seeded mental health issue that probally dates back to an icy cold distant father-child relationship. nothing they ever did was good enough, and so the cycle continues. they project their daddy issues onto anything within reach including children, spouses, occupations and yes sports teams.

Lots of fans suffer from it, most notably ALL red sox fans. these fans will always be miserable and is in fact probally the main reason they became a fan in first place. no need to acknowledge their miserable ramblings and gripes. you cant fix it.... its a dad issue er i mean dead issue. i said dad issue, no i dadn't ... DIDN'T!! daddy didnt love me!
