If limited to three -

- Offensive Line clinic
- Interior defense especially dominated
- Love threw almost perfect (two bad throws) even some of the incomplete tosses were DIMES

Duds

- not being flawless one drive longer, another TD sooner would have been insane

- Tom injury

- didn’t kick them down when we could have..but Lions are a good team so again grasping at straws to give three

Studs :

O-line protection
Front seven (Wooden seemed particularly solid)

Duds :

ST penalties
Tom injury along with Cox/Melton
3rd and 1. Every non-Packer game I watch seems like 3rd and 1 is a given. Packers for whatever reason just seems like an adventure. (Could just be my own bias, but I'd love to see a 3rd and 1 conversion rate over the last 5 years)

Defensive line played well. Lions may have some injury problems on O-line but still, the Packers now are using the depth they have up front and it showed. They were constantly on the Lions. Detroit got less than 50 yards rushing total on 22 carries. Passing was under 200. Gary, Van Ness, Wyatt, and Parsons got sacks. Hafely has them fired up. Even when Parsons was not on the field the Packers were stingy on defense. Don't get me wrong, I realize Clark was a solid player, but there were players who have skills who didn't get on the field because he was out there. Now we're seeing what they've got.

Doubs had 2 catches nearly 70 yards. Top yardage from the passing game. He was drawing their top defensive backs on every play which made it easier to spring others. Golden is quick. He's going to be a load to handle. Nick Niemann is going to earn some playing time. He flies around the field and can make plays, including special teams. Did anyone notice that Tom's replacement, Kennard, was getting off the line and making some humongous blocks for our running game? He also held their defenders out. Our line did a good job keeping Hutchinson out of our backfield. Impressive to say the least. Rest assured the Lions will be tougher when we visit them in Detroit. They need to do some settling with the changes they've had since last year.

Except for two consecutive passes which fortunately didn't end up in turnovers, Love was showing good decision making most of the time. You could see though that he's still learning to go through the options post-snap. What is it now? Over 200 passes without an INT? That's impressive. I think special teams looked better. It looks like we have some players on the roster now who consider playing on them is important.

I liked the way Parsons handled himself out there. He was on a mission. His sack was pure determination that Goff was not going to outrun him. I think he found a gear he never had before. He was trucking.

These first 4 games are crucial. If the Packers can win them all, they're going to be one of the teams to beat at the end of the year, as long as Love and Parsons stay healthy.

Not many penalties, Love, pass pro, Reed, Q and Coop, Wooden, Williams, special teams, just swarming and playing tough. Great win!

Studs:
1. The Whole Defense, what a performance
2. Offensive Line, especially in pass protection.
3. Hafley and new Defensive Line Coach Covington. That was a clinic against a potent Lions offense.

Duds:
1. Our opening 2nd half on offense, 3 and out... did that too much last year, and started the same way in 2025.
2. A few injuries, notably Zach Tom.
3. Hmmmm......Hmmmm.... I'm good with just 2

Honorable Mention shoutout.. Darian Kinnard coming in for Zach Tom, and made some nice holes in the run game, plus no penalties or sacks given up. Couldn't ask for more from a guy who just came in two weeks ago to provide some needed depth on the OL, in case of injury. That is exactly what we needed to see.

Devonte Wyatt...STUD...made plays everywhere, same with Vanessa. Stackhouse must've played well too, as the lions didn't get much on the ground.

Crazy thing is if the junk plays don’t happen, Parsons spoke being on a snap count but honestly I don’t want him to be a 80% plus guy. Get him in about 65 give or take and I think his lethality is just insane

He was pretty fresh in the 4th quarter, and it was not a coincidence that the defense became very dominant at that point, which allowed the offense to put the game away with a 21 point lead.

I believe the Lions have 2 new guards and Frank Ragnow retired. Their middle was so so but nothing like last year. But I was surprised that their receivers could not stretch the field. Goff threw short or quick and underneath except for 2 strikes to the TE. Against the better defenses Goff will have to take some shots.
I saw numerous drive D stops today. The first one out of the gate. Then, although we held Detroit to a FG, if it were not for McKinney taunting, they may have come up empty. Then the pick near the end of the half. Opening the 3rd quarter a great stand after they had 1st and goal. Then the near safety that flipped the field.

The only disappointment I had was the 3 and out when they stuffed Jacobs. But I understand MLF trying to get that going. We made up for it later.

oh WOW! Ok granted it’s week 1. However this was something we didn’t do all last year. DOMINATED a good team.
The D depth is incredible and we haven’t even seen Oliver or Sorrell.

Wooden is already playing at TJ level imo. Wyatt should’ve had 2 Sacks, a Sack was erased by Parson offsides. Lukas is making a statement.

Who was the BEST 1-2 punch at RB in the NFL?? No Lions rusher had over 3.0 per carry. Montgomery-Gibbs rushed for a combined 2.2 per carry

Can you please define "Didn't kick them down when we could have"?

Cause im pretty sure we took a 2 TD lead into the 4th quarter and were up 21 points until under the 2 minute mark of the 4th quarter

In terms of studs Parsons Parsons Parsons. The Micah effect was very real and instantly obvious.
