I recall back going in the 1998 season we had plenty of Pro Bowlers on our defensive roster. We even drafted a top DE in Vonnie Holiday. But in free agency we let CB  Doug Evans and 15 year S Eugene Robinson walk. Made sense. Our D was still good except when we faced the Vikings. Randall Cunningham escaped our DL and had plenty of time to find Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and Robert Smith. The Vikings were 16-1 and appeared unstoppable. The irony was that it was Robinson and his Falcons that went into Minnesota and beat the Vikings. And Eugene not only goes to his 3rd straight SB but after his 16th year he is named to the Pro Bowl! The Packers elevated young Darren Sharper to the FS spot in 1998. And it was Sharper who played too soft on the " Owens Caught It " TD. Had old man Eugene still been there I am convinced he would have broken up the play and we move on..</blockquote>
